Jeez I hate stupid commercials. A furniture commercial came on and was advertising free Omaha Steaks. So pretty much, spend $900 and get free steaks.

Are you sure Omaha Steaks is who you are thinking of? Ordering stuff from them is expensive as hell, from what I have seen more expensive per pound than the same cuts bought locally.

Ranger - The only one of those offers I heard that made sense was a box of steaks for getting your windshield fixed. Insurance normally pays for fixing a windshield anyway. With this company you get a box of steaks along with it. If insurance isn't paying for the windshield it is probably a shit deal though.

I've never heard of Omaha steaks but I know around here a good Porterhouse is running about $16/lb so each steak is in the $20 range.

Not a bad idea as a gift for someone when you don't know what to get them and they live in another state.

We received a box from them two years in a row at Christmas from some friends in another state. When it arrived I thought WTF but after opening the box and grilling the steaks...burgers...dogs...and stuffed potatoes I thought...pretty good idea. :idk:

They send me catalogs occasionally but that only started after someone sent me some as a gift. The same thing happened when someone sent me Legal Sea Foods as a gift (they are expensive too).

I wouldn't do it as I get good ground beef here for around half that once shipping is factored in. If that is cheap for you though you may want to try it some time. Their stuff is pretty good.

Being 3:45 in the morning when I saw this thread title I first read it as "Free Obama Steaks". Which, of course, really wouldn't be free at all.

Time to go back to bed. Off to Orlando in the morning and hitting Daytona on the way back home to pick up the Triple.
