Like, have you ever met that ONE person on your list that you would drop most anything for. Meaning, the person (or people) that are your idol(s)?
I got an email from mine.
I get chills everytime I think about it.
He now has my cell phone number and told me (via email) he's going to call me this week....
I'ma dieing here!!?!??!
So, tell me... did your meeting live up to expectations?

wow, i thought about this for a second and realized i dont really have a hero. I take a lot of good qualities from people and try to live up to them, but i really cant say theres one person whom which i idolize. Im thinking i may be the exception, but i donno really.

my hero? i would kill to meet my grandfather...
He joined the navy from 1933-1939 to get out of the depression, he was a radio guy. He was drafted in 1941 by the U.S. Army at age 29 and served with the 4th ranger battalion in north africa, sicily, and at Anzio beach in Italy...where he was shot in the butt...like forest gump....once his Ranger battalion was anhililated he was taken in by the 1st Special Service Group (The Devils Brigade)....landed in southern France and fought the rest of WWII. Was stationed in Germany after the war where he met my grandma (who was in the army too). Then when the army and airforce split the airforce took him because he was a radio guy and served with the Airforce on a A-20 attack aircraft during the Korean war. He then retired after 22 years of service in the Navy, Army, and Airforce....
def my hero...to bad I won't ever get a chance to meet him for a while

I met my Grandfather 1st when I was an hour old... and according to my parents was in awe of him from the first sight... apparently I was bawling up until I saw him... then just stared at him with my mouth open...
he passed in 2000... I miss him every damn day... wished he'd seen me join the AF... he'd have liked that
we've only met once, actually.
you are definitely not my hero.

I meet my hero every time I look in the mirror..... J/K.
I don't really have one hero. I can think of a few people that I admire, but I wouldn't call them a hero.

Seeing people beat the odds is pretty powerful. Working in a technical college where most of our students are adults with near impossible hurdles, I have lots of heroes.
When I worked closely with students, I met many single mothers working more than one job and still going to school. One of my favorite students used to live in the projects and deal crack. He now has his masters degree and mentors some of our students.

You know what, you're right... *hero* is a bit strong of a word.
This guy just makes me giggity, and I try REALLY hard to NOT come off as a fanboi. It takes a lot to give me butterflies, but this guy does that to me. I'll fill you in, give you pictures and all that... just can't say anything until *it* happens.

Can't say that I have a hero. Don't even really have anyone that I look up to for inspiration. :idk:

Yes, I did meet my hero for just a second and got to shake his hand: Bob Hope.
He never served in the military (too young for WWI and too old for everything else). He was a Canuck by birth but he loved his adopted country. He did a lot of things for GIs. During Desert Storm, him and his wife were already older than dirt yet they braved the sand storms and the 120-degree heat to go and entertained the troops. And you know that they didn't make a dime off those USO tours. It doesn't get much better than that. :pat:

I don't have any heros but there are people in the world that I respect and look up to.
I did meet Stormin' Normin Schwarzkopf several years ago when he was going on a hunting trip with my boss...that was pretty cool.

I met Morgan Rose, the drummer of Sevendust, a while back and got his autograph. I wouldn't really consider him my hero tho, just one of my favorite drummers. The only person that I consider a hero would be my grandpa. He passed away not too long ago. I still miss all the advice he gave me. He was a wise man.
