Well, I'd be more into the EVO if I weren't so busy judging it for it's electricity dependence... Damn junkies!!!

Major drawback, this Incredible eats batteries something fierce.
And yea, arguing on the net gives me a Lil since of normalcy.

I'm honestly surprised that people don't do more research when making tech purchases. The phone's battery is so small that it can't last overnight in standby mode!

Its called turning the phone off at night. Or if it is your only line of communication.... plug it in???

*EDIT* - OK I actually read some reviews. A phone that doesn't last 24 hours is one thing, but a phone that doesnt last through an 8 hour work day??? Fcuk that.

Why the fuck would you turn off the phone at night? Just to save battery. Fuck that. Total bullshit. Thats a worthless phone, IMO.

Oh, and by the way:

MG Siegler irrationally loves the iPhone and it has become an important fashion accessory and self confidence crutch in his San Francisco hipster lifestyle. I’m pretty sure Apple could remove the iPhone’s ability to make calls entirely and MG would still find a way to love it.

Where is the proof that iPhones are more of a fashion accessory than android phones? Seeing as how new androids get just as much publicity as new iphones these days.

I knew everything about my Incredible before I purchased it. I can't speak for the EVO, but the Incredible does just fine overnight off the charger.

You can just set it up so that when you get to work the screen dims, the GPS goes off and the WIFI shuts down. If you're not sitting there surfing on it at work all day it will last just fine. As mentioned, the battery is upgradable and a spare is simple to carry.

 I hear that argument all the time. "All I want my phone to do is make phone calls, blah blah blah." Whatthefuckever, these new breed of phones are fucking amazing. I honestly hardly ever use my laptop anymore. My laptop, which cost me three times as much as my phone, and has far less battery life.

As far as phones being fashion accessories.... Huh? I don't know anything about that, I just know that it is completely amazing how fast and useful these things are.

I agree with you, phones are going to be the future, but not now...how can a smartphone download a movie/tv show then transmit it to a tv/moniter while browsing the internet at the same time as watching the movie/tv show?

Laptops are doing that quite easily right now, and are laptops are full computers. I think eventually they will be able to do this and everyone with the newest iphone4 HTC Droid will think they are old school lol

Computers will always have more ability than handheld devices. But, in regard to your specific example, you can DL a movie to your phone and view it via HDMI cable or by popping the SD card into your xbox.

Um my phone could do it with a faster processor... we're at 1ghz now, give it a couple years and I predict full on laptop processors, dual core or multiple processors. As of right now, I can listen to music with Pandora, navigate, text and browse the web with multiple windows, simultaneously with my Nexus.

I am sure they can do that, but dual screen watch movie from a drive on one screen and browse internet on another is not possible now, AFIK with a smartphone.

We will get to that point, sooner than later, where we will have an all in one device...which the ipad is trying to do, but can you make phone calls out of it? And it is still bigger than any of the smartphones.

Hmmm....I'm going to try it when my gf comes over. Her phone will hook up to my tv using a mini HDMI cable and then I'll see if it's let me browse on the phone while the video plays on the TV...:idk: I don't think so but my phone plays music from Pandora out of the jack while I browse the net... That's streaming music while browsing, not the same but close...Hmmmm...

I rooted my Droid... and prior to... if I just let the phone be... it'd last about 24hrs... if I fucked around on it... (come on... lots of shit to find on the market) it'd last like 8...

but with it being rooted... I now can over clock or under clock my processor... so when I've got it on standby... I have it set to run at no more than 250mhz... or if the temp gets above 100F... if I'm using it at anything over 50% bat... it's over clocked to 1ghz. at 50% it drops to 600mhz

the processor is a 600mhz... Motorola under clocked it to 550... some nuts have them running at 1.3ghz!

but now with the phone at 250mhz at night... I can go 3 days with out charging if I only use it for calls now and again...

What a lot of reviewers seem to want to ignore is that there are several ways to extend the life of your battery. Turning off WiFi and BT when not in use, plus my dumb ass bought both the car dock and the desk dock for my phone so who cares about battery life?

I read about those problems but havent experienced it at all, and I spend a solid 5-8 hours a night on it. I love this phone man, it blows me away. I haven't used my laptop to surf the net once since I got it a week ago. Makes the iPhone look like an etchasketch.

The battery is a non-issue for me. I don't mind carrying a battery spare, and I'm good about charging it.

The thing I am worried about is that I am available for an upgrade on July 20th. Thats like 7 days after the second shipment comes in. I get back from Europe on July 28th. Will they already be sold out again 15 days later? By that time will there already be new phones? I know the Droid X is slotted for sometime in July.... but that thing is a fucking beast. No way do I want a phone that big. Is the Moto Droid 2 slotted for this summer or fall???

Really, battery life isnt that bad on most of these phones. My mytouch started out its life not even being able make an 8 hour day without battery warnings popping up, dealt with that for half a week, then I did some quick research and with 2 apps and some settings my phone with moderate use (10-20 texts, a few web page loads, constant time checks, and a few 1-5 minute calls) I was able to extend my battery life to around 70% remaining by the time I plug it in at the end of the day.

With heavy use, basically being used for an 8 hour period with little down time will leave me with a 40-50% battery

Hard to say because o don't know if the performance is because of the root and overclocking or because of froyo... I love the phone but there are some glitches and I have to reload the kernel from time to time... but that takes less than a min now that I'm rooted

I went to Raleigh yesterday and we did a 4G test. My phone had 3G. At least 3x faster! Pandora started in about 2 secs, web pages in split seconds, etc. Of course, considering the fact that 4G is in so few areas, I'm not going to run out and get one yet but it's pretty amazing when you have it.

I think that has more to do with how fast the phone itself is, not necessarily the network. My Incredible on 3G loads Pandora instantly for example.

Not sure. My first phone was a Nextel and one of those motorola construction ones. Nextel was the shittiest thing I ever bought. However it does help you hate your friends as they beep you to death.

My dad had one last for a while and when I killed my 6th POS flip phone I took my dad's to Verizon to transfer it but they went on about government regulation of GPS and bullshit like that so 911 can fine you. And when I do use it and I don't know the street I'm at they can't find me with my GPS phone. Sorry ranting on here.

My EnV3 is okay. It already died and I got a replacement (my on lucky 13 now).
