Farting around with my PC

I try to clean my PC on a regular basis but I'm a procrastinator (holy shit I spelled that correctly the first time). Any ways, I like to change things up just to see what she can do. I detached from the water cooling and put on my Nirvana heatsink. It's really for a 775 socket but my board has the mount holes for both the 775 and i7 1366.

The vid cards are showing their age. Even with two of them the newer games are starting to strain them. Metro 2033 is bringing on the hurt some.

I dabble a little in PC building and now my way around a motherboard. But, what the hell kind of abortion do you have there? There is no case..... There is no duct work for the cooling to actually cool through..... It looks like you got the most heat intensive pieces and zip tied fans to it. :?:

The mobo is a foxconn bloodrage gti. 1. You dont need ducting. 2. I youd have no room compared to the tiny space you have know.

Just got two 1TB samsung F3's in. Gonna Raid 0 these biatches. Need to make sure I have my Win7 disc made and how to set it up with my mobo.

Why not go with raptors in raid 0 for the OS drive and then 2 TBs for storage?

Cause i didt want to spend that much.

I could find my win7 digital download so i had to spend an hour to figure out how to re-download it and turn it into an iso. Ill try again tonight to get everything setup.

You said storage so im gonna go wih you want me to put all my programs and games on those. Theres no point in running raid 0 if you dont have your programs on the raid drives. Ill have all my programs/games on the raid and a third non-raid drive more movies and stuff

no i meant just storage.. Like files, movies, music and other bull shit.. You can get 2 x 300GB raptors and have way more than enough for games & program installations.

Just for me, sucks having that nice of a rig and 7200rpm drives..

I curretly have three drives. Main is a 1TB sewagte barricuda. I have split into three partitions (windows/games/programs). He other too are for storage (500gb/300gb).

I can run a benchmark tonigt. Its almost full so not sure how thats goig to affect the outcome.

This reminds me, I have my Alienware set up in a "Raid" configuration with the drives mirrored...but I screwed up somehow and got one of my processors somehow not working or something... I'm not an expert of any kind. ;) My laptop has dual duo core processors but only one of them is working as far as I can tell since I got "stupid" and reconfigured my drives.. anyway, I'm gonna drop it off Monday for a check up and quit screwing with it myself!!! :D
