Anybody ever use this Alumaloy repair rod http://www.alumaloy.net/alumaloy1.htm to fix aluminum? It has a lower melting point than aluminum (728F compared to 1220F). They sell the rods on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ALUMALOY-Aluminum-REPAIR-Welding-BRAZING-Rods-1-2-LB_W0QQitemZ300225070337QQihZ020QQcategoryZ34097QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem for $20 for a 1/2 pound of rods.

I saw that at Carlisle the other week. Looks like it's just lead. Could be like solder- a lead/aluminum/tin alloy. At any rate, I'd seriously doubt the strength of the repair. And I definitely wouldn't use it on anything I plan to cook in! Talk about licking lead paint...
