This guys sounds like a total PUSS.
When I went to Milwaukee from SE Mich to get my HD and Trailer. I started the 8 hour drive at about 6 pm local 7pm home time. by the time I got out of the zoo and parking lot traffic of the hell hole most call Chicago, and started heading north, it was well after dark and prolly like 9 home time. Once the sun was gone on April 16, it was COLD. And being as was a trip on the train out there to get the bike I didn't have all my cold weather gear. So, around 1 am and in the vicinity of Jackson, Mi I finally felt the notion of true cold and the sheer joy of having my first Harley Davidson couldn't keep me warm any longer. I pulled off the highway 50 miles or so early to fill up for gas and spent the next hour and a half warming up and BS'in with the clerk. Once I could feel my fingers and flex my knees without pain I headed back out. Pulled into the driveway around 0155 in the morning and parked MY Harley Davidson Ultra classic in the garage.
So to have to deal with a little wind and some light rain, even on a small underpowered bike, is nothing. Get the sand out of your Vag, and ride the damn thing like you stole it all the way home. :gofurslf:

Easy there hotrod. That happens to be my best friend of 20 years there.
62k on my Busa and 50 states later, he has over 25k and 46 states on the VFR. We've definitely seen our fair share of bad weather.
That is but a small tidbit of many rough weather trips we've had. I'm not gonna try to one-up anybody. We've all had our share of bad weather and experienced on the bike. No need to smack talk someone for relaying experiences.

I remember riding north across all of Kansas while a strong west-east wind blew the entire time. I guess it took us something like 6 hours to cross the state, and by the end of it my head was pounding on the leftside where my helmet had been forced into it all day. I never would've thought about a perpendicular wind having that kind of effect. Then again, I didn't necessarily believe in hydroplaning until it happened either.
Funny how caveman cites one specific story to illustrate how tough he is...makes me wonder if its the only long ride he's been on.

Oh, oh, oh . . . let me whip out my e-penis . . . I ride to work all year long. As long as there isn't ice or snow on the road, I'm on two wheels. Rain? Cold? Pffft.
The past two January's, I've ridden in the Winter Dual Sport Ride from Hell. Four days of riding and camping off the bikes weather be damned. Last year it started out about 15 degrees and averaged about 23 for the rest of the trip after that first really cold day. This year it was 40 and raining the whole time.
Two weeks from now I'm heading out on a 3k mile trip on my WR250R. Riding from Tulsa up through Michigan and into Canada, then back. Can I borrow an Ultra from somebody? Sure would make the trip a whole hell of a lot easier

Though I must admit I used some e-male enhancement. I only rode about a mile out.

I know the odds are a bakilliontrillion to 1 that I'd get hit by lightning and even in a car I doubt it'd make a difference. But I always get uneasy on the bike when lightning is around.

I once rode a pocket bike, during a thunderstorm with watermelon-sized hail, which spawned multiple F5 tornadoes, in 115' weather, with 4 layers of winter gear on, through a gigantic cage full of starving and rabid gorillas, with a big banana sticking out of my pants.

Probably one of those small trailers a harley can tow that came with the bike.
As for riding in the wind some people don't know what they are doing. I don't know what the final determination was but it was initially believed that Luc Bourdon of the Canucks drove his new bike (GSXR1K) in to a semi because he didn't know how to deal with wind.
