I have a 2000 Maxima SE that the wood trim around the stereo, controls and vents has been ruined by Ga humidity. It's no longer glossy and just looks like shit really. I want to replace this stuff with something else (I've heard of other colors such as "black marble") and get it looking nice again. Anyone have any experience/suggestions with this?

c/f ftw

lol. True dat. Went with this one:
http://www.carid.com/2000-nissan-maxima-manual-dash-kits/item-34361.html Got genuine carbon fiber. It was about 250$ but I think it'll make the car look a lot better.

You get all these pieces? Seems like a good deal, actually.

Yep, all of those pieces are included. The interior is black leather (5 speed too) so I think the CF will look pretty nice. The price on the link is for fake wood/cf. For real wood or cf I think it was an additional 30%. Still worth it though. Now I gotta get a hookup on a double din DVD/GPS unit.

I don't have any experience with them directly, but have heard those overlay kits are a PAIN IN THE ASS to get just right... Time and lots of patience are required to get it to look good.

That said, eBay would probably be a good place to start...

No, I have family in Ga, that's where I was raised. I bought the car from an officer shipping out of fort benning.

Got it installed today.. wasn't as bad as expected, my gf did most of the lining up and I just held everything in place. The shitty part was getting the old one out and removing all of the 3M residue. Prob spent 5-7 hours on just that. Kit looks good though, nice weave in the CF and nice finish. Most of the pieces fit really well. Didn't use all of the kit though.

Where's the S2000?

Long story. Basically lost my job where I was paid very well and had no income for a long time and just couldn't afford to take care of it. Sucks because I'd bought a 2JZ motor/EMS/everything needed to make a good 6-700hp at the wheels. I work for myself now... So don't have to worry about that. Lesson learned though, I'll never put that kind of money in a car I don't own outright again.

I'll post some up after I get my dvd/nav system installed this weekend. For some reason this board doesn't notify me of replies despite my settings.
