Attached is a link to a summary of the internet TV show, Forum Wars. If you haven't heard of it, its a pretty cool concept. The producers pit forum members against one another to see who can walk the walk. The overall winner was quite a surprise, and just goes to prove what Confucius said: "Man who talk about dick don't have much to talk about".

To produce that show must have been super cheap too, rent a track for a day ($5k ?) throw in a production crew ($5k ?) add camera equipment rentals ($3k ?) and post production costs ($5k ?) , add in some free "talent" who want to show off their cars and get a free track day. I bet the total production cost was less than $20k for a 10 episode series. Figure they can sell a half hour episode of commerical time for 50-100k (assuming 5-10k per 30 second commercial during prime time) for its first run and it is completely feasable to show a huge profit on this, especially for a 2nd rate basic cable station like speed.

Sounds like we need to produce a MC version. I think that enough of us troll or post on other forums to do a mini-series. The first contestant would have to be Shervin.

insurance costs on the moto version probably would double the cost of production

Still would be worth it for the cost to produce a show

me neither but it would be great to see a bike shootout with some real world riders on their bikes, and especially if there is a busa trying to run a race track with a 42" stretch swingarm. Hell i would vote you on the show with your GS, you would prolly beat half the jokers out there

I really want to get my GS on the track for just the curiousity factor.

Insurance? WTF? That's what waivers are for. And getaway vehicles. And aliases.

Waivers don't stop lawsuits and shit. You sign a waiver to go to any track day and if you don't think the track doesn't have insurance, you are kidding yourself. It's probably law for them to have it.

Zoom could probably answer this more accurately though.

Insurance is ridiculous. I've learned more about insurance for high risk activities than I ever wanted to know  On average, I carry $9m in coverage for a normal trackday - though for an event like this I'd imagine it would be less as it is limited participants.

I'd be game for hosting this... anyone have a camera crew?

I love how people are bitching about the mustang having slicks but not the unevenness of power. Lets see. A 300ish HP mustang with slicks VS. vehicles pushing 600hp. I'll call it even.

Power is nothing without control...

(Although i don't know how much difference it actually made).
