So my homeowners insurance will drop me if I get a Rottweiler... Just curious as to what two dog breeds I could mix together to end up with a dog that looks amazingly JUST LIKE a Rott?

I'd say mix a phone and a new insurance company and you'll get something that looks like a rotti...

That's what I was thinking. I'm not big on insurance companies thinking large breeds are more destructive than small. I know plenty of Cocker Spaniels that will be agressive long before a large breed.

A black lab and a rotti.....
That's what we believe our dog is. He looks mostly lab, but towers over conventional labs. His black fur has red under tones. His head is broader and his front/chest deeper and thicker than a lab. He's got the endearing and loyal qualities of a lab, but you best not try to break into my house.
He's probably around 110 right now - could shave off some weight but he's got the lab food addiction. He's an opportunist by far....

In that case they go after the kill ratio. Watching Animal Planet today they mentioned the Rottweiler has the 2nd most human kills of a dog (beaten by the pitbull). A kid getting a nip from a cocker spaniel is no big deal. A kid getting his skull crushed by the most powerful jaw in the dog world is.
You could try a Swiss Mountain dog mixed with a black or chocolate lab...

I know.
It should be dumbass owner penalty, not breed penalty. But, dumbass is too common these days.

Now wait, you do agree with the "young rider/sport bike" penalty, right? Why? Is it because a 19 year old riding a R1 is more likely to crash hard and cause injury than a 40 year old on a Shadow 750? Insurance companies go strictly by numbers, not feelings or whatever. If the numbers showed that cocker spaniels were killing people, they would be on the "ban" list, period. It's nothing personal. If OSP gets a dog and someone gets bitten, what happens? If they get bitten by a cocker, they stop at Walgreen's and get some Bactine and a band-aid. If they get bitten by a Rott, they go to the emergency room. Then what happens? Lawsuit. FWIW I love Rotts and have had a couple, great dogs. Gentile dogs...but when they do trip...well, you don't want to be there. Real Talk.

Nothing that they wont drop you for anyway.
Adopt that adorable lab dane mix, or go to the shelter so you can tell the insurance company its a mix and leave out the possible aggressive breed.
I've got a lab dobie, looks like a lab (mostly), but colored like a red dobie, and has the teeth to go with it. She's such a beast (at 60 some odd lbs) she has to lay on the (16oz) kitten to beat her in a fight.

Sounds like the best bet.
State Farm told me I could own any dog and the first bite was free.

:lmao: perfect
I have a Rottie and have no problems. My insurance company did a 'drive by' years ago and asked I sign a waiver that removes him from the policy.
Get your Rottie but get one that hasn't had it's tail docked yet. Must be a mutt!!
