Carwin surely has the power to put anybody to sleep...
Although I suspect if Lesnar is back to full health, it may be too much for Carwin. Lesnar has crazy speed for a dude that big, and his strength is pretty unbelievable. He just mauls people, and wears them down. This is what I suspect will happen.
*Of course I never thought Werdum would sub Fedor, either*

1) I can agree with that, but all it takes is one with Carwin. Lesnar has not shown that striking ability.
2) Fedor was only a matter of time... He fought someone halfway decent for once and the outcome was as expected.

Yep, if Carwin connects it is likely over. I would love to see it, to see what kind of chin Lesnar has. It just isn't a given that he will. I am not sure he has KO power from his back. I think he will spend the majority of the fight trying to stop takedowns.
I don't think Lesnar has the ability to sub him, or hurt him striking. He could possibly get him on the ground and throw all kinds of punches, and get a ref stoppage.
Could be a five round snoozefest. The last few main events for the UFC have left me disappointed.
I'm not sure I consider Werdum a decent fighter anymore, but you are 100% correct. It was only a matter of time.

My $$ is on Lesnar...A total wrecking machine..I'm also a Carwin fan too..He too is one bad mofo..but Lesnar is still building momentum on the way up to total dominance....I mean the guy has cement truck fists!..You need to be a Bad MoFo to even sustain something like that!

Pulling for Carwin but would bet on Lesner.
I didn't think Fedor would lose to Werdum...I did think he would lose if he ever made it to the UFC though.

I highly doubt a 5-round snooze fest... Even if it turns into a wrestling match, it still should be interesting... If there's anyone that can get back to their feet after a Lesnar takedown, I think Carwin's got the best chance simply from a strength and background standpoint.

I guess I don't think Carwin has the skillset for the ground. On the feet, there is no comparison. Carwin all day.
I will have to go back and watch some more Carwin vids. All I remember are nasty KO's.

Carwin - 2x NCAA Division II wrestling champion.
He's got a ground game, he just knocks people retarded before he has to use it.

Brock is fast as hell... that's one of the true advantages I see for him in this fight. As far as those stats are concerned... Upon a little research...
Carwin's circa 1998... Lesnar's circa 2004... I cannot attest for the accuracy of these dates, but if they are true... as true as the stats are... they are out-dated. They could be significantly different now and are therefore, useless.

I think he walks around @ 295, and cuts to 265. From what I understand, he puts about 15lbs back on within 24hrs.

That seems legit. I'm sure he re-hydrates well after weigh-in.
It's just crazy to be a fighter and have the weight range of a bodybuilder his size(45lbs diff)

The fact that he walks around with a MF-in sword/knife tattoo'd on his torso lol. And when he steps in the ring he's bigger than the top of it.

Do the heavy weight guys have to make a certain weight though? I hav eseen a few fights on spike where guys had to do a lot to make weight or go up or down in a division and seemed to pay for it conditioning wise.
I like lesnar and his attitude, he wa slike that in the WWF too but thats more or less an act, here he can act like that and backs it up.

Carwin is a beast and in any other match my money would be on him, but Lesnar is fucking monstrous. Did nobody see when he hit Herring so hard it put his feet over his head? Yes, Lesnar has all the striking power he needs. However, he's recovered from a major illness and hasn't fought in a while, that's gotta come into play. This is going to be a good match, and I'm definitely getting it.

In the press conference he said he usually comes into fights having to cut about 15lbs of water... But I hear both guys start their training camps around 300lbs.

Very few heavies have to cut weight to make it under the 265 limit... Lesnar and Carwin are the only non-fat guys I can think of that have to cut. Coming into this fight neither has to cut much. Where Brock usually has to knock off 15lbs of water he said he just needs to skip a meal or two this time.

We will know for sure at 7pm EST at the official weigh-ins. I expect both to be at or near the 265 mark.

If you call throwing 50 punches in the first round landing half of them running out of gas and getting submitted in the second round and losing a better fighter...Sure,
Lesnar even when in the fetal posistion mad eit lcear to the ref that he was still able to defend himself...He was moving around throwing jabs in between carwins punches and using his legs to show the ref he wasnt down and out.
Everyone who thinks the fight shoulda gotten called in the first is a fucking idiot...Lesnar would've been robbed if that were the case.
People dont like seeing cocky motherfuckers win...I happen to love it
Actually I like lesnar, but I think carwin should have won, his first round showing put lesnar to shame, and lesnar only got the upper hand after he speared carwin and choked him into submission.
As far as his wwf days, its not a bad thing, he knows howto brand and market himself, and does a good job at it.

Well Carwin has submitted people in the past...
Lesnar however had no idea what he was doing with that choke, but he knew it and looked to his corner... Or heard me screaming at the tv...
Lesnar won and deserved to win. Carwins shots would have buried a lesser man but Lesnar stayed just active enough to avoid a stoppage. 57 punches landed by Carwin and he couldn't put Lesnar away. I don't question his cardio... I question his game plan because he punched himself out... As any guy that size would after swinging for the fences for 5 minutes.
As much as I would have liked to see things go differently, Lesnar was the better man last night plain and simple.

Isnt the point of being the better fighter...to take what the other guy dishes out and then use skill and technique to find and capitalize on a mistake or weakness in his game/training? I love Lesnar, this fight proves he belongs and proves he is more than just a pro-wrestler turned shoot fighter. Its kinda dumb to say carwin deserved to win just because he punched alot, thats not the only way to win a fight. You dont have to like him or the fact that he won, but give him respect and dont downplay a very good win because of a lopsided view of one round. Its not like the ref was taking away points for nothing or called for the bell prematurely, Lesnar withstood the pounding and implemented his will and gameplan. The better fighter won.
