Very true. Plus most men don't like my concealed carry gun because it does this...

As long as she doesn't want a Glock or S&W then I'm cool with it. Unless she scores a Glock 18 somehow.
Oh yeah, what caliber are you shooting? She likes the 9mm. I let her shoot a .40 but she didn't really enjoy that.
I didn't want to continue thread jacking homeslice's thread.
WTH is that, a 50 cal?
Is her intent to conceal?
I have a 380, but want a 9mm because ammo is so cheap & I like range shooting.
I've shot 40 & 45. Not bad, just not very easy to get ammo & expensive if you do find it.
Not a big gun, just a perfectly timed picture

What kind of 380?? I have a Bersa 380.
I'm looking to get a TZ99 or CZ9 for range shooting.

Yep, a Bersa. I love it. Just expensive to shoot all the time.

It's a 44mag with a 4" barrel with 1" of that magna ported. Made by Taurus. Even with a 44mag (vs special) that thing is very accurate. It does shoot about a 10ft flame and always grabs attention at the gun range.
Her intent is to conceal and carry with her, plus take in a car and home defense for when I'm away (basically all around). I'd prefer she got one with more knock down power (like a 40 or 45) but if she isn't comfortable shooting one then there is no point to her having it.
I'm really open to whatever pistol she likes. I just don't think she wants to spend more than $600 which because I'm a gun snob is tough for me. I'd rather spend $1000 and get the best.

AMT has some Semi-automatics that shoot 44mags and I think a couple rifle rounds (like a 30-30 I think).
But my buddy has a 45-70 govt revolver (far left). Middle is 22mag and far right is 454 Raging Bull

Thats it. I'd love to have one.
Why can't guns be cheap and ammo expensive? So many weapons to choose from.

Nice.
Good to hear you are open to her getting whatever she is comfortable with. I hear so many men in stores say "you should buy this or this" and not let the women have a chance to speak up. Then they hate it.
Who's to say you have to spend $1000 to get the best? We all know "the best" is very subjective.

I'm confused. My Bersa was cheap and the ammo is expensive, which sucks.

Confused? Well i guess would be too if i was out of the kitcken. Ah you i love ya.
Im more into rifles. I dont want to spend $1500 or more on an ar15 when there are thousands made. An ak would be nice but shit people want gold for them sometimes. You have different nationalites of them and the good ones are high.

I see. My mind for this thread was was more on hand gun, not rifles. I don't know much about those. It all makes sense now.

Well she is much smarter than me so I have to listen. Funny thing is with her ex-boyfriend, he wanted to buy a rifle for hunting and she said she would never allow a gun in a house. She met me and I have 6 guns (2 rifles, 2 shot guns, and 2 pistols) sitting in our apartment now with her probably having her own within a month and applying for her carrying permit now that she is a Georgia resident (and not an Illinois resident).
Thats it. I'd love to have one.

I have a fiveseven IOM, ammo is insanely expensive. Like watching dollar bills fly downrange

The mateba is a .44mag. The rest of the range tends to stop and take a look when I open up with it

I would much rather have a 40 or 45, but agree, ammo is too damn expensive.

well, I bought a Bersa 380 for the wife to carry its a good "Girl" Gun. I personally carry a Glock .40 23 model Gotta love a trigger safety. When I worked Nuclear Security we carried something similar and it has a good stopping power and isn't so large that I can't conceal it. I want to get a .45 next the 30 model the subcompact tiny only 6 shots but with .45 you only need two; one in the head one in the chest.

What's fun is putting all 44specials except for the last shot. You here pop, pop, pop, pop, BOOOOOOM! (Mine's a 5 shot). People think your gun exploded.
Leenetworx. Your pic is full of win! I see a future dark alley thread in the making

Wouldn't work for me, the automatic cocking mechanism on the matebas likes the heaviest rounds you can find.

I can't get used to a Glock trigger for some reason so I doubt I'll be buying one of those any time soon. I shoot hubby's but just don't like the trigger. To each their own though.
