Had some friends at Tally this weekend. Just got a call. A rider named Jason Campbell went down yesterday and didn't survive. Damn, heartbreaking. His mom was there. they say he got to talk to her before he was airlifted off the track.

What exactly happened? I know STT had a fatality there last year, I think it was Early March, because the rider wasn't wearing a chest protector.

got this off the gixxer board, doesnt say what type of internal injuries got him or if a chest protector would have helped.

He came out of the chicane hot and left the ride side of the track. I guess he tried to get control and got back on the pavement and shot straight into the wall on the left. He was unconscious and not breathing when the medics got out to him. By the time the chopper got there he was conscious and appeared to have a broke femur and some internal injuries. They sid this morning that he died on the operating table.

Damn. I have heard some bad things about the wall at Tally. I'd much rather go to Barber, it's not much further away, and not much more money.
