And this is how it ended...

The 800# 25' tall kids blow up jumpie ended up nearly crushing us and ended up 200 yards down/across the street along with 3 mangled pop up tents on top of us.

Read how below...

We were having a bday party in the back yard of the neighbors house when this storm came thru. Started out as just rain, got all the kids under the pop up tents, heavy rain, we're holding the pop up tents, wind, more wind, then this gust of wind at least 50mph blew the 800# 25' tall 20' wide blow up kid jumpie came straight for us. Deflects off the pop up tents while crushing them on top of us. The women are protecting the kids, the men are protecting the women. Now the pop up tents go flying and crushing on top of us... food flung in every direction while the wind blows the 8' confrence tables and chairs like they weighted nothing. INSTANT crazy!! Meanwhile the 800# blowup mows over 4 sections of 6' tall privacy fence like they were made of toothpicks, deflects off that and flys up 2 stories, takes out the siding ,chimney cap on the 2nd story of the house, and street sign; to settle against a street light pole 200 yards down and across the street. The 20' wide trampoline blows over the other 6' fence and ends up 40' in the neighbors yard. People are scattering and trying to pull the mangled pop up tents off the special ed kid stuck under the tents. All meanwhile during it's pouring like a white out, and sideways. Remember 50' winds with probably 10-20mph more in gusts.

Finally after ensuring that there is nobody stuck under the 800' blow up, counting all the kids inside the house, we make sure nobody is hurt, and sum up the damages. Most of the grown ups compile in the garage watchin in amusement of the whole event and in admire all of our soaking wet clothes.

The clean up consisted of lifting the twigs that use to be a privacy fence, cutting up the mangled pop up tens (3 of them), picking up all the food, dishes, tables and chairs are everywhere.

We are still in complete shock yet amusement. But very thankfull still that nobody got hurt. Now hang the pinyota and let's get back to the party.

After which I tend to my yard that has 3 sections of 6' privacy fence down, and 2 broken posts. Which took me a $80 trip to home depot and 3hrs to fix. Uma and I would like to thank my brother in law and Caveman for helping.

Caveman... "Oh that's right, right there, pull it out, OH YEAH BABY!!!" :lol

Yea...there's a new thing out called the "Weather Channel" it even has this new fangled "radar" whozits that supposedly tracks storms. I've even heard rumors that you can get it on a phone, of all things...you may want to consult it BEFORE your next outdoor party. :)

Yeah... well earlier in the day we already had one 20 min rain session. But that was it. This was still sunny, no dooming clouds coming in, looked like it would have been a quickie. it kinda was, but packed a big punch.

It was like one of those crazy vids you see on tv where like the bleachers collapse or something else nuts.

I am so thankfull we were under the pop up tents. I really believe they deflected the blow up and saved us from seriously getting injured!

LOL

It was nuts... seriously.

Not to mention the suck of all the clean up. But I was an animal with my 18v sawzall cutting up not only my pop up tent but 2 others. Sucks! Now I'm without pop up. Unless the neighbor decides to make a house claim on the damage.

Where's the video camera when it's needed??!!
Seriously... it was nuts. I'm sure the pics from the neighbor will prove that.

Damn... the wind can whip shit like that around fucking easy...

my brother when he was in Iraq had a bad sand storm and the tent he was in started to blow away... so he decided to use himself as an anchor and hold the tent down from inside by grabbing the framing.

he awoke 2hrs later 150 YARDS away from where the tent was. some of his buddies in the tent said he held on and the tent was pulled up and away and cleared a couple buildings so he was at least 30' in the air...

he ended up with some rash on his face and shoulders and a mild concussion...

crazy fucker...

I just keep thinking of the poor special kid trapped under the pop ups.
Then I realize he didn't need any help. Them kids are powerful strong.

That is nuts. I think I would have gotten out of that. Not wrapping myself in a F'in wind sail!

Not this one... he was in a wheelchair... poor guy.

Those microbursts are insane... Probably about 10 years ago I experienced one... normal rain and whatnot, then all of a sudden it just went apeshit. We were in a screened in porch and very quickly had to dive into the cabin. Trees were uprooted, branches fell everywhere... a few cabins sustained roof damage... and a few pontoon boats, including a 32' monster, were flipped over their docks. Totally intense.

Pretty soon we'll all just be walking around with them implanted on us to make sure we nab every bit of footage.

We had a microburst pop up on lake saint clair in canada when I was a kid, destroyed my tent, ripped the awning off of our rv and destroyed another rv in the campground

Saying it was insane is an understatement. First it was fine and hot, then POOF! Instant chaos. I thought it was awesome as bad as that sounds. Not happy about the damages but it was a hoot! And we weren't just wet; looked like we all went swimming in our clothes.

All those good beverages blown away. :(

And yes, thanks 2 Caveman and bro for fence help.

Well, this littel microburst decided to show its ugly face just as I was leaving work. I wasn't about to spend more time at work when shift was over just because of some little rain. So, I manned up and toughed it out to the cycle and started home. Wind was really bad. That Ultra is like a sail, it just gathers up all the wind and pushes you all over the place. So, I thought lets just pour on the throttle and push through it and get the F home. By the time I got 5 min from home it was sunny and breezy and had I drove for another 20 min I would have been completely dry.
but by the time I got home my friends party was completely disarrayed and I was informed of the above mentioned fence in shambles and decided to help my bud, Gas Man, out and get the fence back up. Didn't know it was gonna take ALL FREAKIN' EVENING.
So, it was ok we got it up I went home took a shower and went to bed thoroughly exhausted from a 12 hr shift in a 85 degree plant, and a 4.5 hr fence rebuilding session.
Oh yeah Uma, thanks for the beer. But Gas still owes me like another couple rounds for that one. HAHAHA:chug:

No, he is spending too much cash on the HHR and his HD to spend the $5K on a new vinyl fence. Can you say CHEAP, CHEAP.

Kinda but I figure it's probably clsoer to $10k.

5yrs because I need to pay off the condo I haven't owned in almost 4yrs, finish paying off my home improvement loan, bikes, credit card, etc. Just can't afford such a big spendature.

Certainly it could be done and not other things. But we all have those types of choices.

Even Cave.. he chose his HD over a new driveway concrete that he's been talking about for 2yrs now.
