Its revamped and supposedly less "intrusive" according to the reviews I've read. I never used the original Motoblur, so I can't compare.

It doesn't seem to be as fun to mess with as the Sense UI is...

Battery life is good...I used it heavily all night last night starting with a 60% charge...it probably crapped out (5% charge and a low battery warning) around midnight.

I've been using it heavily again today...started at 6 am with a full charge...just checked the battery life...it's still at 85%.

Give the Incredible to your wife...get yourself an X. You won't be sorry.

I was going to get an itouch because my ipod broke and I need to a nursing app for class so I don't have to carry a bunch of books to clinicals. Turns out the app is available for android as well.

Also wanted to get a gps because my riding buddy is being shipped back to canada and he leads. I read on the website that you can get gps for it? Is it any good and will the battery last? Anyway to mount it to a bike or do I just put it in a tank bag?

Also the 8 megapixels camera is a cool feature, and has more pixels than my camera.

Other than that I don't need it for email, facebook, etc etc. Not sure what to do!

I use my droid as an mp3 player. I put it in my inside pocket of my jacket. I'm able squeeze my jacket and use the volume toggle on the side of the droid. I'll enter in an address and just listen to the directions that google maps gives me. Although the lady can get REALLY annoying at times. Reminding you to turn every 2 effin minutes. They didnt program here to read the short names of streets either. It sometimes takes her 10 seconds or more to say the how damn highway name.

I wish I had the chance to start with the Incredible like my buddy did. I really like the design of the HTC phones. Samsung completely fucked that whole process up. That was a giant fail. But honestly, I'm glad I had the chance to get the X. I played with an incredible in Best buy today. The thing feels puny after having the X in my hand.

Battery life has seemed fantastic, even browsing the internet and facebooking all day at work. Small bits of games and widgets here and there. Usually about 35% battery left when I go to bed about midnight.

I'm ASSuming that you've checked the settings and looked under Application: running apps. Have you made sure that the Gps isn't running? That's a life killer! Other than that, I'm out for now...

Install advance task killer and turn off everything you dont want. Also see if account sync is on in the settings. Any time you do something, it syncs it with your account or some crap.

Settings > Battery Manager > Battery Use

This will give you an itemization of battery usage since the last time you had it on a charger.

On my droid in sttings, its "accounts & sync" and then uncheck auto sync.
Weird - Mine is split into Accounts and Data Manager, neither of which have an Auto Sync option.

The battery use is nice, but it doesn't break it down by App. It only breaks it down by Screen Usage, Idle Time, and Cell time.

Either way, since killing the unnecessary tasks last night, I'm now at 50% battery after 14 hours off the charger which is a hell of a lot better. I'm not sure what was sucking up the battery time, but I'm suspicious it was skype.

Everything I've ever found on the site has been total data usage. I may find and install one of those battery monitoring apps so I can actually see which app is using the most battery.

I've had Google Maps go on a rampage before sucking up 80% of my battery use and killing the battery in 3 hours.

BTW, I put an HTC 2150 mah battery in the Incredible and got an external charger from Seidio. Now, when one battery goes red I just slap the other one in. I leave all my antennas on, use the phone like a beast, and I never have to put the phone on the charger. Once a day I just swap, fuckin' ubersweet.

Her Droid X's speaker is very quiet so you can't listen to music on it, it loses reception frequently and the screen isn't bright enough. She wants to trade it in for an Incredible...but I'm going to have her look at the Droid 2 as well..

I ordered an Incredible to begin with...but cancelled the order after reading all of the Droid X preview articles and watching a lot of Youtube preview vids.

I'm pleased with it...it's a kick ass toy.

I picked up a Nexus One on Craigslist a few months ago and I love it. All I've known is Froyo and from what I hear about MotoBlur and HTC Sense, straight up Android is "better." I don't know if that's true.

I do have a 3rd gen iPod Touch and I HATE HATE HATE that POS iOS 4.x. It totally ruined it and at this point I'm not investing the hours I had into it before iOS 4.x f'ed it up.

I think I'm going to use the Sexy Nexy for my music. The only downside is my Touch is 64GB and the Nexy can only handle a 32GB Micro SD. I'll live.

Gingerbread should be out soon...

Hahahaha... I just dumped my Nexus for a Desire... For sure the N1 is a very capable music player. Heck, if you don't already know, there are several music search apps that download songs for free and with all of the music service apps like Pandora out there.... Well, My car has never even seen a cd...

My main problems are with the default browser.

1st I know there are other browsers. I'm not retarded. The default browser works best with a non-overclocked Droid. Skyfire constantly force closes and Dolphin is too power demanding for the Droid uno.


1. It force closes now and I've never had this problem till 2.2
2. Nothing kills it. Even if you do with a killing app it's still there.
3. It loads up the last web page you were at even if you're able to kill it. I want it to load up google like I've had it with 2.0/2.1. Why make a change like this.
4. When you exit out of the browser for awhile then go back into it, it'll refresh the page. I don't need this to happen. It is very annoying. Sometimes I look something up so I can open the browser back up to get that info, but if my connection sucks or not working then it tries to refresh and wont load the page. Now I'm SOL.


Another thing is the damn gps app starts up for NO reason at all. I can have my droid in it's carry pouch, pull it out and turn it on and the damn gps menu is up. I don't even have a gps icon on any of the main pages. How in the hell is this turning on?


I've noticed a HUGE slow down just exiting out of an app and getting the main page to show up. Hell, sometimes I have to move my finger on the screen back and forth to get the icons to pop up.

1st I know there are other browsers. I'm not retarded. The default browser works best with a non-overclocked Droid. Skyfire constantly force closes and Dolphin is too power demanding for the Droid uno.


1. It force closes now and I've never had this problem till 2.2
2. Nothing kills it. Even if you do with a killing app it's still there.
3. It loads up the last web page you were at even if you're able to kill it. I want it to load up google like I've had it with 2.0/2.1. Why make a change like this.
4. When you exit out of the browser for awhile then go back into it, it'll refresh the page. I don't need this to happen. It is very annoying. Sometimes I look something up so I can open the browser back up to get that info, but if my connection sucks or not working then it tries to refresh and wont load the page. Now I'm SOL.


Another thing is the damn gps app starts up for NO reason at all. I can have my droid in it's carry pouch, pull it out and turn it on and the damn gps menu is up. I don't even have a gps icon on any of the main pages. How in the hell is this turning on?


I've noticed a HUGE slow down just exiting out of an app and getting the main page to show up. Hell, sometimes I have to move my finger on the screen back and forth to get the icons to pop up.

2.2 is a huge turd for the Droid.

Say if I pull up TWF and start messing around. Someone comes in my work, and I either hit the top button to turn the screen off, or i hit home first. Then i come back later and turn the screen on, I cant scroll the internet page that i was previously on. Sometimes i have to refresh the page itself, sometimes i have to kill the internet with ATK. Its weird.... :idk:

Interesting, I only ever ran a pre release build of 2.2 and didn't have issues.
