Sorry but hybrids are pretty stupid, their gas mileage isnt much better than what I can get on my full gas honda fit, they cost 5k more and their only reason to exist is to give rich folks a reason to say they are "green"

Agree. I had a 1998 Dodge Neon Sport with a 2.0L DOHC 4cyl and 150hp that got a legitimate 32mpg. It was also snappy, quick and never left me wanting for more power. It didn't even care how hard you drove it, it still gave you great gas mileage.

I've never understood what the big deal is with the Hybrids, as you said, they don't do much better than other small cars.

The worst is the Smart car though. They're outrageously expensive, tiny, scary, and don't even manage to get great gas mileage.

The point of the Smart car is its small size for city driving and parking, not gas mileage. There really isn't much point to them over here in the States, but plenty of other cities in the world are ideal for them.

Don't forget that at end of life it will be far worse

and then there is the issue of how much energy it consumes just to build them. I'll stick to driving my 223k mi Camry that still gets decent mileage.

Would prefer to ride the bike as much as absolutely possible, but it's kinda tough when you have a child to take places. I just can't bring myself to suit her up and put her on my bike with me. While it would suck if anything happened to me on the bike, at least I'm aware of all of the dangers and can make that decision myself. I just can't put her in that same danger, so I drive the car whenever I have her.

I'm not sure how old she'll have to be before I'm comfortable with her being on the back of the bike. I remember being her age and my dad taking my sister and I both for rides, wearing shorts, t-shirts and no helmets. He'd have one of us on the tank and the other on the seat behind him. But things were different back then. We'd ride in the front seat with no seat belt, or sit in the bed of the truck. Now, we don't even do that.

I almost bought one...since it would fit in my 1 car garage with 2 bikes. They also get 41mpg...which isn't bad.

The Smart diesel makes much more sense. 85mpg on a British gallon in a combined cycle (subtract 20% for US gallons and it is still 68mpg) is pretty damn good. The gas ones are stupid though. I have yet to see the hybrid that makes much sense either.

Can motos get in the hov? Do yall get tags for the hov. I think in dallas you just get in it. I do wonder what happens i u have passengers in the back but no passenger in the front. Also a toddler in the back.

Yeah Motocycles and Buses are allowed in the HOV lane regardless of occupants.

And any 2 or more persons (they have to be LIVING and separate) in the vehicle cablin (not in the truck) are allowed in the HOV lane regardless of age.

What about if they're in the back seat and no one is in the front passenger seat? Is the camera gonna take a pic?

Does what I posted fall into that catergory? 101 thinks so:lol

There are no cameras to catch HOV lane violators (and God knows that Mexicans in tinted out Altimas are the biggest cheaters).

hovs are ghey

Why? It convinces some people who may or may not carpool...to carpool.

I seriously doubt it convinces enough to be worth a damn. Afaik we don't even have em here

Yeah I agree when I'm by myself in the cage but since the wife and I usually ride together to and from work...love em'.

Yeah maybe...but they are usually segregated off by double yellows, which makes a nice path for splitting the lane. :lol

HOV's rock for flying by 20 mph faster than all the tools driving to work solo in their Escalades.

Segregation FTW!

Shit. Just because a lot of people don't use it doesnt make is gay. There's people that think 6 lanes is too many since a lot of people can't find that far left lane. Fuck that. The more lanes the better. Makes it easier to zig through traffic.

They're touted for their gas mileage too.

Only by people in the US who desperately need to justify their purchase. :lol

Like goof said, though, the diesel is actually pretty badass.
