Have you seen these before? I searched but couldn't find them posted here. Crazy.

Yeah, I've seen those before. Pretty crazy. But I've also seen the training course that the Japanese MC cops have to go through. They should be able to handle it

I saw those quite a few years back, can't remember for sure but they were developed in some European country so they could get through stopped traffic to tow a broken down car out of the way sooner.

Pretty cool idea too.

Awesome and brilliant.

Imagine how much easier it is to get one of those rigs to a broken down car during rush hour compared to a 30 foot wrecker.

That's awesome, I guess it works as a trike with the outriggers down? Wonder if they darkside

The towing rig doesn't work as outriggers. It is like a trailer where the bike can lean independently while the towing rig stays stable. The bike still leans and rides just like any other motorcycle even while the towing rig is deployed.

Somehow that seems like it would be less effective

Leave it to the Japanese to come up with something like this.

The music makes it seem like a lost clip from Beverly Hills Cop 2

Yeah, Swedish invention. Can obviously only tow small / mid-size cars. They showed it towing a Volvo wagon. The hard part was making it exactly evenly weighted so it wouldn't make the bike tip while riding it. Big advantage in the ability to lane split up to the scene of the accident rather than filtering through it with traffic. Clears roads faster than an F250 ever could, unless you hit a Suburban.

there was a thread on CF a few years back on this - all I can think of is what happens if the 'Wing rear-ends someone with a car in tow

IIRC they have a pivot link, not a static one. The bike is free to lean. When they were first shown, I believe it was in Sweden.

There was a show on one of the discovery type channels on this. It showed them in use in sweden one of the shots showed it pulling a Volvo wagon with a camper (caravan) behind it, now it was not a very big camper but it was a formidable size. It definately can pull very well but it was made for getting the highway opened back up and not for replacing a tow truck. Most of the time they only towed the vehicle to the next exit ramp where there was a tow truck waiting to take over. Obviously it was a forward only tow and would be very dificult to manuver in a parking situation?
