I'm going to look at a '93 Kawasaki ZR1100 tomorrow right after work. The 15 mpg Suburban is getting too expensive to keep filling.

The pics below are from when my friend Dave owned it. My boss bought it from him and dropped it over at about 15-20 mph. ( front end washed out after he came over an old "launch" bridge)

It has 18,200 miles on and still looks pretty good. The only thing still damaged is a small dent in the tank.

Anybody have one of these or know what to look out for? Comments are appreciated :dthumb:

Thanks
Jeff

Looks nice. The March, 1993 issue of Motorcyclist has a short blurb about the 93 ZR. "The classic styling hearkens back to the '70's and the legendary Z1, but what lies beneath is throughly up-to-date. Although based on the proven power plant in the ZG1200 Voyager, the air-cooled, 1062cc, in-line four is all-new. The engine is counterbalanced to reduce vibration, the power train features a hydraulically actuated clutch with back-torque limiter, five-speed trans and chain drive." The list price was $6999 and the wet weight was 534.

Looks clean and with what else is in the garage means he probably knows how to take care of things.

I thought those FJ40's were pretty cool, especially after one pulled out my Suburban from a ravine in central Arizona. But then I drove one.

Did you buy the bike?

Yes, I will be buying the bike :dthumb: Rode nice, handled decent and plenty of low end grunt. Goes like mad when you twist it up too

My test ride was leaving my bosses house and heading back home to feed the dog. I got some pics while I was here.

Good price?

$2K with the stock rack, manual and some extras. I'll get on monday. Boss and his wife have left for the weekend so monday after work I'll pick it up. :rockwoot:

Just picked up an armored three season jacket too. I'll put pics up after I mow my yard.

I heard it has eight spark plugs.

You heard correctly. I'm sure sometime I'll be able to convince some "bike know it all" that it's really a small V8 stuffed in there

Here's the Olympia armored jacket I got today. It's listed as a "three season" jacket.
