Based on the comments, the cop and the judge were right.

I predict the G8 will hold its value, or even climb.

As for tail lights that need to be banned, I submit this cheap-looking rubbish. Ugliest lights ever.

Thank God taxpayers are funding police departments to go out and keep us safe...another great example of fine police work. Good job boys!

Female judge.

Well, supposedly, from the comments, he was ticketed for his car looking like the one below (he posted pics of it in comments). He has the original lights, but spray painted them black. The comments seem to say there is a bit of bad reporting in the article.

Based on the comments, the cop and the judge were right.

i didn't read the article but how is the judge saying the G8 lights are illegal. if he painted over his lights his SOL. we got pulled for having headlight covers on here in broad daylight. got a 5 day warning which was complete BS. told the cop I could just take the covers off right now and we could all go home. no no I'm giving you this warning and you'll have to take the vehicle to police station and get inspected.
you're not allowed to cover your taillights at all.

want ot make sure this reads correctly my warning was for HEADLIGHT covers not taillight. tail lights are never allowed to be covereed that I know of.

I give people with blacked out tail-lights a ton of space in case they brake and I can't see it. Been there, done that, almost ate a spoiler. NFW

I have LED tail lights, all my markers are smoked out, and my headlights have static cling precut tint on them. FTP

I thought black-outs were a late 80's/early 90's thing, but whatever.

This is newsworthy?

Is the judge saying all the tail lights for this vehicle are illegal? Or just the black ones that this dude had that would be illegal in pretty much every state?

Where in the article does it say he blacked them out?

It says he has stock taillights, and even brought in a dealer brochure, pictures of his car and the DOT information to show they were approved by the DOT.

Read the comments below the article.

Apparently, he wasn't being entirely truthful while whining.

The article doesn't say it, but there were pics of his car in the comments section. If the pic in the comments are correct, the article is misleading.

I'm looking at a variety of G8 tail lights and all the stock lights are NOT black, leading me to believe he altered them with the cling on/sticky covers...especially if the car in the article is his. You'd have to be blind and dumb to think that came stock.

Supposedly this is the dude's car...
