Not surprised at all, considering the current economic climate.

And considering the utter fail of successive Winblows products.

We are still running XP at our facility. 7 hasn't been approved yet.

7 is by far the best OS that MS has ever released.

I work for the government, which means we'll get Windows 7 about the time that Windows 15 comes out.

Yeah... we just got approved Vista... err... FORCED to use Vista... I fucking HATE IT!

but instead of sitting on XP and waiting for 7... they jump from XP decently quick and will be on Vista forever now...

Yup. I work for NIST-National Institute of Standards and Technology. We are still on XP. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Fortunately they canceled vista deployments (here) early in the project.
Unfortuntely I'm stuck on XP (work laptop) until next year HOWEVER it all works out in the end because then we'll be part of the 64bit rollout vs the 32bit rollout.

I think a lot of companies are gun-shy after the whole Vista debacle along with the fact that there is so much security risks moving to another OS (even with a current system that has known holes). Hell, a lot of companies still use NT 4.0.

Believe it or not -one of my major systems is based on Vista and runs great. SIMPLEX alarm system-TRU-SITE.

Definitely. I think about 75% of our enterprise clients are running Win 7 as of last month and I've not heard of any OS-centric issues.

I have 7 on my home laptop and so far I love it as well.
