Anyone been getting stuff like this recently to a yahoo acct.

I have had a few people ask me to add them to my address book but have no idea who they are. Then today I get a FB message from some "girl" with a private profile who wants to chat and a few of her friends are about to show up. Now its no teven to chat on FB but on a yahoo IM acct. I googled her name and seems its been used to hit up others on FB as well.

I got some girl asking to be added as a friend on FB in my email yesterday but I didn't have a friend request from her...:idk:

Not sure what is up with Yahoo Mail, but lately I've been getting alot of spam in my Inbox and it's not being filtered into the junk folder.

My yahoo mail is a garbage acct anyway but its been over run with porn spam now, not sure where all that came from.

I'm getting redirected from my yahoo search results. As in, I do a search, the link comes up, I click the link, redirect to some marketing website. Anybody know what that is?

A few years back, my ISP farmed out their email service to Yahoo. Within days my spam load had gone up more than 10x. I'm firmly convinced that there are people at Yahoo, who sell email address lists.

I'm getting redirected from my yahoo search results. As in, I do a search, the link comes up, I click the link, redirect to some marketing website. Anybody know what that is?

Yahoo sucks for search.

By "marketing website" I assume you mean one of those "squatter" sites where someone owns the name and just fills it with a load of links while he squats on it and tries to sell it to someone else.

No, I mean that if I searched for TWF and the link for TWF came up. Then I click on it and BAM, I'm on another site. If I hit back, click it again, everything is fine.

Virus, malware, DNS hijack.

Reboot, and see if it fucks off. It could just be a malware script that loaded.

Consider running NOSCRIPT under Firefox to prevent this.

If you're gonna be a spammer. At least throw in some porn pics that you can right click, save. Think of the children.

I've gotten the odd diversion from completely clean systems. No idea how or why, but it happens.

Just fixed that on my dad's laptop and my in-laws computer.

If you're not PC savvy, download Hitman 3.5 Pro and run it. It'll knock out most rootkits, browser hijackers, and malware on its own. If that doesn't work, it'll at least let you know what file is infected so you can unregister, then delete it.
