Just picked up a set from a racer at work! A front and two rears. :rockwoot: I know I won't do half what they're capable of, but he's using them to place top five or win every other weekend. Plenty of wear left overall, but the middle of the rears look almost new. I'm prepared to be blown away after riding on Pilot Roads and BT020s. Very, very cool guy to talk to about bikes.

Wonder how many heat cycles they've been through. And placing that high, I imagine there aint shit left on the sides. Be careful turning. Make sure they're plenty hot!

yeah, you should really have some tire warmers before you run these to get em nice a toasty. Be careful with em.

Got them put on my spare wheels today. $24. I think the shop goofed, because the tech told me $22 each.

I'll post up pics in a bit. Got a great deal on a camera over the week. $60 for a 5 megapixel panasonic that's maybe two years old and cost $250-300 new.

I have the rotors and sprocket for these wheels, just didn't put them on yet. The tech said he can't balance them till I put them on. Their spin balancer clamps to the rotor faces. Is there any other way to do this? I know a cage balancer won't work right. He said they could just move the stock crimp-on weight around to balance- said the line the Harley dealer gave me was horse-shit. Something funny about cast wheels. We could true a spoke wheel...blah, blah, blah Yeah, I figured they (fartley) were ripping me off. I'll take my shit to this place again.

Spare wheels as in track wheels? Definately some good tread on the sides still left. Pirelli's need lots of heat to perform their best.

Yep- found a deal on almost new stock wheels to use for track tires. I'm going to start looking for tire warmers, but doubt I'll need them yet.

On second thought, there is no way in hell I'm paying $200++ for two pieces of nylon with heating coils.

Well take 4-5 warm up laps then. Or rent some at the track if possible.

Are you just now coming to the realization that motorcycles are expensive?

 hardly. Just saying it's ridiculous for something so simple to cost over $200. Especially when the grip heaters I use every day cost $20. Exact same thing.

Huh, wonder if I could find a cheap heated vest and use that.

race tires aren't like DOT at all and pirellis aren't known for their heat up. Be very very careful for the first few laps on em if you decide to pass on tire warmers. There is a reason why people without tire warmers don't run race tread.

130-175 is a lot of preset temps, 100-212 is usually the range for adjustable ones

It's kind of al mentl but when you fuck with DOT tires, make sure their hot as fuck...like 180+.

Know where I can get a used set? $400-600 for the Chicken Hawks is ridiculous. Graves or whatever was $200, but that's still steep. Especially when I'm only thinking about 1-3 track days this year.
