A lot of people are out this year. My brother got tickets, but I'm having custody issues with my daughter, so I may not be able to go.

If you're an AMA member, you can go thru their website and save $30 off a three day ticket. Just read it in my AMA mag

I put both pics of the same article up since the flash washed out different sections :wtfru:

I took a couple pics of the magazine article with the discount code in it and posted it in my original reply.

My friend was wondering, if you have Paddock tickets, do they get you through the tunnel and around pit lane??? If so, what days and times can you get around the pits?
We are still trying to decide where the best view would be from. I was thinking J, H, or C. But he wants to get near the pits.

Why do you want to be near the pits? This isn't fucking nascar, they don't use them during the race.
Get general admission and wander around the track til you find the best place you like to watch from. The front straight is boring.

I agree with Trip. I can tell you from experience, the front straight at Indy sucks balls, unless you want to watch the race on a bigscreen TV. You can't see jack shit if you're along the straight. It's not bad if you get seats at the very end of the front straight (I think it's section S), but you definitely do NOT want to have seats on the straight. However, since you've never been there, I would also recommend general admission.

See thats what I thought. I DONT want to sit there. He thought he heard somewhere that if you got Paddock tickets, you had access around the pit area. (Not in it, I understand that.) I just think he wants some autographs.
I was looking in J stand, where you can see turns 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and down the front straight. Like $80 per ticket. But I might just talk him into doing general admission for this first year....

You need "Hot Pit" Paddock tickets which are usually very very expensive or given to VIPs, sometimes they sell "Cold Pit" Paddock tickets. You don't want those, because you can do the same on like the thursday before the race with a general admission 3 day ticket. Cold pit, there won't be any riders there and it will just be bikes and a few team members. It will all be roped off.

I now have family coming, I won't make it. It's a bummer, I have a sponsored racer of mine going.... that just means they get my mechanics passes from BMW. THOSE are the passes you want.

If I was there. But, I highly doubt my boss would give them to someone walking up and requesting them  They're kind of weird like that.
