Got your notification popup to update my Win XP install of Quicktime, and stupidly, I trusted you, and hit "update".

Quicktime took the liberty of installing a desktop icon (I wanted no such thing), and then took over nearly every media file association on my computer, reversing my preferred settings.

Control panel; Add/Remove software; Remove Quicktime.

Violate my trust, and *poof" your shitty fucking software is gone.

Eat my ass, fuckers.

:fu2:

Only problem with VLC is that their H.264 codec sucks donkey balls... that said, it's the only media player I use simply because of it's versatility.

I must have tried at least 5 different codec packs and Windows 7 refuses to load thumbnails properly for any files that aren't AVI format. It just says "discovering items," but never does. Then it makes My Computer and Control Panel blank.. I just turned the damn thumbnails off.. so fucking annoying.

AVG snuck their Security Toolbar in under the wire, in the last update that I did. Reset my search provider to Yahoo at the same time. I specifically didn't install it when I first installed AVG because I hate toolbars. There was also no specific uninstaller for it, nor would it allow uninstallation from the Mozilla plug-ins list. Fuckers.

Yeah, see, this is what chapped my ass the most.

I expect shit to do nasty things on initial install...they almost all do that fucking shit (assholes)...but this "fuck your world up on update" strategy is new levels of sliminess.

I'm going back to a lump of coal and papyrus if this keeps up.

I'm using avast now because AVG started to bloat too much for my tastes.

If they're taking three hours to update, your computer is slow as fuck.

I'm using the K-lite codec pack (I've been its strongest advocate on this forum previously) but some inline browser shit wants to see Quicktime, so I had (reluctantly) installed it, so I could view inline shit.

After they fucked with my shit, though, they can eat me, I'll view shit offline, thanks.

Fuckers.

Yes, the iPad is slow as fuck.

:skep: Never seen a three-hour update, even with a full-on backup and restore (with a crapload of content on the device).

I use VLC mostly, even on the mac.

Can't buy avast's full internet security package because their zip code tables aren't correct/up to date - they don't think my zip code matches my city. Turns out... I live here...
