View Full Version : Rally 2011?
So while trip and his merry men galavant across the US, will there be a rally next year? Even if its just for a long weekend would be cool.

Bring a dual sport and double the fun!
Maybe check the AMA schedule and congregate round Barber? or Road Atlanta? Hit the Indy GP again? Visit Mobile Alabama or Padre Island Tx?

I think we should still plan on a deals gap or surrounding area get together. It's more of a central hub than arkansas for east coasters. I am also close, so I would be able to make it without using leave. :nee:
Anyone is free to setup an arkansas trip though, the NE guys did their own thing last year.
Just a long weekend, I can easily take a 4 day weekend and go down there, its only a few hours ride for me.

The gap again? <yawn>

The gap again? <yawn>
exactly... the gap is cool and great roads surround it... but come on... venture out... the Rally is more about the gathering than the rides... IMO
Again, you guys are free to go wherever you want, more people will show up to the gap area. That's the point, get more people to come.
Exactly the point you were trying to make, more about the people than the area..............

IDK, people are great but shouldn't we also gather the people in different and exciting areas.
Further, I see right thru your ploy. You simply won't have theleave time due to your other trips. :skep:
Well like I said, you can organize a central rally if you don't want to go back. I doubt you will get the northeastern guys to go all the way out to Arkansas for a short vacation.
12 hours to the gap for NY people vs 20 hours to Arky for them. That's a hell of a lot more. That's why having rallies for different groups is better. If people want to do one out that way, go for it. We should still have one in this area.

The only problem I have with the Gap is its a long boring ass ride to get there. And then I have to tip toe around so as not to fuck up the bike or get hospitalized and require a 13 hour evac trip. The wifey would not be pleased. I would love to meet you guys from back east but maybe not at the Gap. I'll fly out and rent a harley first.

Ya know this is always an issue with any mc trip.
We could just have a meet up at Trip's house then run to AK as a pack.
Another option, may be West Virginia, keeping it close to the east coast, but still centralized for the southern folks.

He's been doing better, don't jolt his progress. He's now left the commonwealth a solid half a dozen times this year. It's hard to believe but true.

WV means I have to take two days on either end to travel... it's 1010 miles to be border from my house. That's fine... just means I may not be there due to Derf and I's trip in Sept.

Well, all I have to say is there better be a rally next year. I didn't get to get the time off for this years event and that pissed me off.
I will do almost what ever needs to be done to make sure I make it to next years even if I have to get stupid at work and do a Cough cough vacation if you know what I mean.:chug:

This is why it's better to do just a centralized location. You won't please everyone and the NC is right in the middle of it all. We don't have to stay near the gap and there are a ton more roads and places we haven't been yet.

I'm just not interested in riding that far. I know it's "relatively" close to me. But thats not gonna get it done. I just can't do it. I can't be on the bike that long. Hurts my back bad enough to ride locally as it is.

But a more comfortable bike?
Seriously why continue to own a bike that isn't bearable to ride.

Definitely. If you like riding, but just don't like riding your bike, then it's time for a new one. Who cares if you don't like how a new one looks, as long as it's comfortable to ride and you actually enjoy riding again. As far as looks go, I'd much rather have a sport bike or a chopper. But I want to enjoy riding, which means riding long distances, and I just can't enjoy riding either of those types of bikes for long distances. Eventually, I'll have a track only bike, a cruise around town bike, a dirt bike, and a good long distance hauler. But for now, I'll settle for the Strom, which allows a slight combination of all types of riding.

Because I love that bike. The Buell stays. I don't necessarily love riding anyway. Its more of a pain in the ass to me to ride most of the time.
Sounds like its time for a harley. Lol

LOL, smart people wouldn't throw their money away on failed junk. Idiots are the ones that spend a lot of money on such crap when they could of bought it for pennies one year ago.
If it is really going for real money, I would get rid of it before the market bottomed out from it again.
Dont worry too much marko, in another 15 years it will be a collectors item
