This is kind of a defection from Triple's thread. While I see that there are a bunch of Triumph people around.
What does everybody think of the Daytona 600? I'm becoming more and more interested in it, and there is one in my area listed at $3600. I can probably talk it down a bit.
How's the reliability? The suspension? Any known problems?

Always liked those, supposed to be somewhat f4I ish and a good solid ride if you aren't concerned with racing other 600s. Its better if you find a 650 though

Had one for years, loved it. Fantastic streetbike, less capable at the track than other 600s. Wide tank makes riding difficult for some but I loved it. Stock the motor makes terrible torque, but throw a PC3 on it and it will feel like a triple or twin. I never had to rev it over 10k on the street after that. Motor is a little buzzy but didn't bug me. No major known reliability problems other than the fuel fittings (which should have been fixed under a recall). Suspension is as decent as you'll get out of a stock 600, not spectacular but no major bitches on my end. Great brakes. Pretty heavy. Most issues seem to be related to build quality rather than design, so if the bike lives past 1000 miles the issues are generally worked out. Fantastic bike for all-day canyon rides and occasional sport-touring.

Awesome! You had the 600, not the 650 right? I heard the 650 fixed the torque problems. How about the ergos, they seem... comfortable? The bars look super high.

Changed to a linkage-type shifter to smoothen clunkiness, added a slipper clutch, and dropped 2 plates to make room i believe....

Yeah 600. You can fix the torque with a pc3 easy, dunno about the 650. It's mostly just a stroker motor. I liked the pitter-patter of the boxy motor. Ergos are great. It's a bike you have to learn to ride though--I rode ass-back, way back, and the bike was nice and stable. If you ride balls on the tank you'll run out of clearance right quick. There's not a lot of aftermarket on it but you can fit ZX6r exhausts if you want. I ran stock. The 650 didn't get a slipper.

Sounds like a similar workaround
I'd buy one again. I'd consider it more against an F4i than a 600RR. It's not a bad thing, it just is.

agree it's more f4I ish then a SS bike, I haven't had one but read up on them a bit for awhile. seem like good bikes with better comfort them a SS. find a triumph dealer first make sure they're available. our local one just closed. I had the Sprint ST and loved the bike. lots of compliments on it.
right hand went numb after 50 miles or so, they claim it was a standard "feature" on Triumphs. (may have just been on the triples) I just drummed my fingers to wake them up.
Triumphs overall reliability seems to be up but they do still get their occasional lemon.
for that price I'd go for it. after a good inspection of course.

How are these bars high? They're about average for a sportbike.

The clip ons are above the triple tree, most SS bikes have them below the triple.

Hmm, my 05 R6 were above the triple. Granted, after 05 they got a lot lower.
