Well hell, I'll get this one started.

My other ride is a DRZ400 dual sport, though I'm still trying to figure out how to mount a trunk, it's a fun weekender. Heading down to Arkansas for my first major trail riding the first week of April. My only goal....no broken bones.

Anyone else around here like to play in the mud :diitb:

I've got an 06 KTM 250 SXF and 01 YZF426 bored out to a 444. I grew up racing dirt bikes. I don't ride that hard anymore, I just like doing it for the fun/exercise now. It's a hell of a lot easier to get seriously injured on a dirt bike than it is on a road course.

All depends on what you run into.

I don't know what road courses you're doing, but the ones I'm on don't have cliffs, gravel, and trees.

I hear ya, that why I have the FZ6 also. The DRZ does not like straight line on pavement, haha

I've been a sport bike rider for years, and just last year got a couple small dual sports to run around on. I have as much fun on them as I do the sport bikes. I only wish there were some good riding areas around here; even some nice long dirt roads would do!

My first street legal bike was a yamaha trailway 200. I used it as a commuter and weekend trailbike and it was damn near indistructable and got like 60-80mpg. I alaways think about getting another dualsport for commuting cause they are so easy to handle and if i do its not gonna be a 200cc.

The new WR250X from Yamaha is calling my name as a commuter...

Trailbikes get nearly the same mileage as scooters but look way cooler.

Why not get a buell blast as a commuter? I got about 65 mpg on my last tank and rode it hard as hell.

I like the blast but i have two street bikes already (sportster and gsxr) and the sportster gets upto 50mpg when riden in a commuting way.

I can get into the 50's if i play nice on the SV

Don't think i'll be so lucky on the 1125, judging by the milage computer.

the rc is a beast coming off the corners, as long as i can stuff you going into the corners, you aint got a pray of passing me

that being said, im slower on the rc then my 600 overall

True, it is. As long as the bike does better than my pickup, I'm ok.

And i love the torque...
Fuck clutching it, just twist to bring it up!

I'm hearing those numbers on bikes that aren't completely broken in either. So I'd imagine it goes up after a few thousand miles.

Is that why I always felt we were relatively the same speed?
