Ok, so I hate TV... but I LOVE that I now have cable...
I have some guilty pleasures already... Mostly reality TV, which I am completely ashamed of, but at least it's not the MTV crap.
So who's watching Pawn Stars, Pit Boss, American Pickers, Hoarders, or Stan Lee's Super Humans?
I am and I'm fucking hooked.

I was the biggest OCC fan like 5 years ago when it was new. Had the hats and shirts and all. I stopped watching 2 years ago when the arguing got too rediculous, and Vinnie left. Just 2 weeks ago I saw the commercial for the Jr vs Sr and decided to watch. Its nice to have no arguing, and Vin is back.

Sons of Anarchy, True Blood, Justified ...and all the Star Trek re-runs of course. :D

Yeah, its cool as hell... and the one guy is a fucking loon. Last night they found an old Excelsior chassis, an old Indian engine/trans, and a Crosby engine... I like this and Pawn Stars because of the history of the items. It's really cool to see guys who know all about all this crazy old shit.

I need to start downloading Hung and True Blood, though last season of True Blood was kinda whack... I am interested in seeing the werewolves though... I can't fucking wait for Dexter to come back on... just sucks that I'll have to wait and download it cause I'm too cheap to spring for the premium channels.

All the best ones were cancelled or fizzled out. Been meaning to buy or steal farscape and to finish space above and beyond
Farscape lost me during the second season
SAAB was an awesome show that had a few seasons left in it
Earth final conflict is another cancelled show
Quantum Leap always felt like it could go on longer
Dark Angel was never really given a chance
Sliders was good, but lost its way in season 3 due to charachter changes
Babylon 5 should have ended after 4 seasons, the last season was just kinda stuck in there
The 4400(awesome)
Earth 2 (double awesome)
Seaquest (the first 2 or 3 seasons, 2032 sucked)
7 Days had a ton of promise but never found its feet, plus how long can a show go on that takes place during 7 days?
Dollhouse, goos how, but should have lasted 5 seasons
Jeramiah, the episodes I have seen are cool, but Ive only seen a few
SG1 Great show, should have lasted 8 years not 10, the last 2 seasons were terrible
SGA, Needed one more season to really tie everything together better
SGU, is a little out there, its got its hooks in me, but I feel like its too dark and not campy enough
Sarah Conner Chronicles, terminators every week!
Invasion was another decent show that was kicked off by hurricane andrew (show was about a hurricane caused by aliens)
Torchwood, didnt like the finale but the rest was great
Dr Who, great show with the right mix of campiness and neato scifi
Thats my rant for the moment

Dexter is great. I liked the first 2 seasons more than the last 2 though. Seemed like some of the episodes were drawn out too much and I would occasionally get bored. Still an amazing show.
Forgot to list South Park, King of the Hill, Family Guy and Futurama because I don't watch them nearly as much.
I much prefer shows that have a continuing story line as opposed to shows that every one is a completely different situation.
With true blood, I was told by my old roommate to watch the first season and stop, it wasn't worth watching after.

I dunno man, the way the last season ended totally blew my mind... I totally saw it coming, but I couldn't convince myself that it would really happen. I'm interested in how the character development shifts now...
Season 2 of True Blood was WEIRD... real fucking weird. Still interesting, but just really far out there... I almost lost interest, but they delve deeper into the vampire heirarchy and culture which kept me coming back. I hear season 3 is already better than season 2...

True blood show does take some pretty wild liberties compared to the books, but in general it follows many of the same themes, even if season 3 had a ton of stuff in it from the later books. They also seem to focus more on the bill/sookie relationship being a good one (at least until 1/2 way through this season), vs the book where bill is a dick and eric is the one you root for the whole time.

Pawn Stars both amuses and annoys me. Expert values item at $5k! Pleb foolishly asks for $4k. Rick offers them $50 and a hard smack on the ass for not knowing how to sell something on eBay.
American Pickers is my favorite. I could totally go into that line of work if I could find someone to apprentice with and also... you know... had a shit ton of cash to get me rolling.

All they did was discover a way to market antique road show to a younger viewership.
Yeah the quick buck mentality is hilarious of some of the idiots, and some seem completely pressured to sell their items for far below what its worth.
Appraiser
"Yeah this is most likely worth 5 to 6 thousand in a good auction"
Jackass
"meh i guess ill take 900 and some worthless pawnshop junk trade"
I bet most of that shit they get never goes to the floor of that shop, it heads straight to the auction house, or one of the MANY collector conventions that las vegas hosts.

There's something to be said for instant gratification and cash in hand. Sure, you could sell most, if not all the shit they take in on eBay or somewhere else online, but as they always say... you gotta find that one person who's willing to pay the appraisal price. Many times, that's hard to do. Letting a $5k item go for $2k may be a better deal for you if you need the money quickly.

Till they start bawling over the tiniest crap.
I havent seen more than one episode of True Blood, but I read almost all the books, comparing notes with a friend who watches but hasnt read the books, sounds like they arent really sticking to the books much. I plan on watching when I can stream it.
I read the books (waiting for Dead in the Family to hit paperback) and I watch the series... HBO does a great job but doesn't stick to the books exactly. Plus, they've created characters that aren't in the books. I like both. I'm on team Eric btw. ;)

I was stuck watching the first season of it on aafees tv overseas. Still think that voluptuous indian girl should have won it instead of that toothpic twin

Not me, I knew they wouldn't get rid of him or Pam. One question though... are vampires only capable of turning one human? Why wouldn't an army of Russell turned vampires have come to save him? Godric, Erik, Pam... no others? Why not?:idk:

Logic ruins plots. At least if they went the hellsing route he could claim he couldn't find any virgins

Nope, Bill was married with a child when he was turned. Maybe each vampire can turn only one human in his life. It would tend to keep the numbers down and answer why the world isn't eventually made all vampire.

I said if, they clearly hadn't. Imagine if all vampy chicks were like poor miss jessica with the trick hymen
Did spartacus get renewed for a 2nd season? That show was pretty awesome. I watched the whole thing in one day of being super sick and I just layed in bed.
Ya, the show was HUGE. But Andy Whitfield got cancer, and had to go through chemo. The second season only starts filming in october. However, they made a 6 part mini series about John Hannah and Lucy Lawless's characters that should be airing soon. Kind of a prequel.

 Even without watching the show, I'd be on anyone else's team BUT Bill's. There are a few others I'd rather be on than Eric's tho...rawr.
I've got to get around to watching the shows...I wonder if Blockbuster rents them...I hate netflixing series I cant stream, they only send one disc of it at a time.
We can watch the older seasons via On Demand. Do you have that? Its thru cable. I'm obsessed.

I got hooked after a marathon at the cottage on a particularly rainy Sunday.
Train wreck is right. I want to stop watching but I can't.
I don't know what's more entertaining, the actual show or my boyfriends constant narration of the show. :lmao:
JWow or whatever her name is is doing Playboy. :boobs:

Yea... I watch Naruto... I can't help it! I've seen every episode and I want to find out how it ends!
I also watched every episode of Dragonball and Dragonball Z...
Oh and I watched two or three seasons of America's Next Top Model... +1 I guess...
I watch Naruto, Bleach and Full Metal regularly. Theyre are great shows so I dont feel guilty at all. When I was a kid I watch every DBZ episode but I tried to watch on a while back when the "remastered" versions came out and I cant belive I sat through 291 episodes of that, its horrible.
They need to make a completely new series from the original manga with new animation and art and cut it down to about 100 episodes.

Haha I was looking through some old DBZ eps I had stowed away on CDs about a week or two ago. They were from the Buu arc when Goten and Trunks did the merging thingy. At the time I thought it was awesome, but after watching it recently I was laughing my ass off.
My friend skimmed through GT recently as well and said it wasn't much better. I tried to watch it a couple years ago, but didn't make it very far..

GT fucking sucks at the beginning, but it gets good about 1/2 way through when Goku goes SS4. All in all, Z is WAAAAAAYYYYY better.
Dragonball Z should be shortened tremendously. It shouldn't take 10 episodes to progress the story beyond one conversation.

For real... I'm surprised some nerds haven't consolidated all of the sagas into individual 2-hour episodes. I'd LOVE to see that shit. Sucks that the storyline was written alongside the cartoon... If only they would have waited, DBZ would be so much cooler.

There is so much goddamn filler in each episode. I think the new digital release that was on cable (dragon ball z kai?) cut out a bunch of the annoying filler with chi-chi and mr satan and such.

Robin Hood on BBC, which i've been watching on netflix.
The first season was awesome, the second was good. The third kinda ruined too many staples of the series (marian dies, Will Scarlet and Djaq the Saracen leave, etc etc), and wasnt as fun to watch until Guy of Gisborne returns to the show later in the third season.
