One day these things will rise up against us like Skynet did in the terminator movies, and I bet this guy found out their plans so they killed him

The owner of the Segway company has died, apparently in an accident involving one of his upright two-wheeled vehicles, police in England said Monday.

The body of James Heselden, 62, was pulled from the River Wharfe in northern England on Sunday, police said.

A Segway-type vehicle was recovered from the river, police said.

Yeah, but this is where it's SUPPOSED to be posted.

Ok, someone needs to splice together a video of Will Smith interrogating a Segway. :D

That is, without a doubt, the funniest damn thing I've read all day.

It should be legal to hit those things. I saw a pack of them in Savannah once and they were hogging up the road. Now how suprised was I that they came out of some trendy moped store.

Apparently this guy wasn't the creator, he was some rich guy that bought the company.

They were all over the NY State fair - TWC was using them. They had annoying kids on them (read: college age) with laptops on the front and they'd push in front of you and demand that you try their wireless internet service.

I almost pushed one onto the grass but my wife wouldn't let me. *grumble*

That doesnt make the story as newsworthy so they have to forget to mention that ;)

grab the neck of it and shake it back and forth very quickly, doesn't have to be a lot of force behind it. This will fuck with the gyro's and the kid will get tossed.

I worked with a team that made a fully automated sentry segway for one of my college projects. It could detect explosives, radiation, facial recognition, and curse at people. It was fun to use the campus wifi to drive it around campus and berate people with it. It had a webcam/speaker/mic setup so we could drive it all over campus without leaving the lab.

I was also the test pilot for this system, because a person also had to be able to ride the segway with the system in place. We had to make the segway think someone was on it, but we also had to have a way to hit the pressure points manually so a person could take control of it. This led to a lot of testing and wrecking of it and a lot of bruises for me. I have gotten tossed from one more times than I can remember.

Yeah, the inventor is Dean Kamen. Some of his earlier inventions were pretty great including the wheelchair from which the Segway got most of its technology. I think somewhere in the publicity runup for the Segway, when a lot of the most respected entrepreneurs were unabashedly sucking Kamen's dick with hyperbole to the effect that the Segway was the most important invention ever, would change the future of the world, and would be the fastest company in history to reach $1 billion in sales Kamen went over to the doucheside.

After thinking about it, Heselden may have offed himself over buying such a garbage company.
