So I got called to Mansfield to manage a store cause some people got banhammered. Good opportunity to get some cash. I was at the same store for seven weeks earlier this year dealing with the same problem.
So this morning I'm opening. The bank is about a 5 minute drive. When I was here last time I noticed the bank rarely ever has people in the drive through, so I do the deposit from my car. Normally if both lines are full, I pull up and hover inbetween the lanes, and wait to see which will move first. Anytime ive previously done this people get the idea, and pull in behind me and do the same thing. It's just smart if you have a low traffic bank. So today rolls around and I pull in with one car at each lane, and do the same thing. Person pulls up behind me, and gets the same idea. A couple minutes later this girl in a taurus just like mine comes FLYING into the parking lot and squeezes her car inbetween the wall and our cars that were stratteling both lanes, almost taking off my mirror in the process. I was stunned, and I looked in the mirror, and so was the lady behind me. So the lady behind me starts laying on her horn and screaming out the window. Nothing. So I stay honking. Nothing. So I pull right to get up even with her car, to basically cuss her out. The bitch rolls up her window, and turns her head left, so she can't even see me. The lady behind me still honking and screaming. What happens next, she gets to move up to the pipe and is out in 4 minutes. What about me and the lady behind me? We waited 20 more minutes for the person infront of us to move. We were seething....
I'm sorry, but I don't usually use this word... but what a cunt. Knowing that she jumped like 3 cars, and got caught, so she just rolls her window up.

She knew what she was doing and didn't care.
I see this more and more with people everywhere. They just don't care. At all. About anyone. But themselves. :(

And while we're on the topic, I feel most places should have one feeder line that then goes to the individual cashiers (or wahtever).
Every single time I get in a line, it becomes the slowest line EVER.

Why? When its a low traffic bank? Why take the chance of getting behind the guy we did today who sits at the tube for 25 fucking minutes. There was 3 of us (at that time), what's the problem with a feeder line?

This. There's also nothing wrong with backing out and getting in the other lane if the one you're in is that slow, but hovering and making others have to do the same because you dont want to commit to a line is irritating for the other customers and the tellers who have to deal with the folks you frustrate.

"So I went to this local bank where there's usually not a lot of people because I was in a hurry. Got there and there were 2 lines open but some JACKASS was straddling both lines and holding everyone up! So, to teach him a lesson, I pulled next to him (close to the wall, boy I'm daring!) and him and the other car started honking! What a jerk! So, deciding not to get into a confrontation, I rolled up my window and wouldn't make eye contact hoping he'd go away. Good thing I picked the right line because I got right through. Serves them right for not picking a stupid line! Geez, what's WRONG with people?"

You're kidding me right. The folks we frustrate? Just lolz. Why do some banks and fast food places already do that if it just "irritates people" because we can't choose a line. No, it's more fluid.

Yeah I notice more and more stores are going to one feeder line rather than individual lines. It's much more efficient that way. I see it at grocery stores for the self checkout line and at Best Buy.

Yup. I mean it if it came down to me being mad just because she got to go before me, then I'm just as self centered. But the matter was I was the opening manager, and the store opened late because of her. Customers and the company don't care how it happened.
Unless they are setup for it, then it doesn't matter. banks don't tend to have feeder lines in the parking lot, so you are on your own if you try it and then someone says fuck your feeder line.

If banks wanted to institute a feeder line, they'd have one. Not leave it up to customers to make one. :dthumb:
Oh, while Im at it, most banks have a line dedicated specifically for COMMERCIAL use. They dont appreciate you using the regular lines for that kinda transaction either, as you are interfering with the system they use, in fact, they typically post signs that specifically ask customers to be courteous and use the appropriate designated line. Just saying.
I was only in banking for years. As every kind of teller. And when you have a certain person handling personal transaction and someone else handling commercial, and you decide to fuck up the system, you make everyone else have to wait. And I have to use the commercial line every day.
You are one of those jerks who asks for deposit slips too arent you? (kidding on the last)

What is wrong with people? They are all in it for themselves. I had proof of it the other day when I saw a woman and her mother hit a truck in the store parking lot. I was walking in, past her car, as she damaged his truck. I walked in the door, all the while with my eyes on her... she appeared to be getting in her car to write information. But, the moment I went inside and out of her view, she started her car.
I told an employee inside to get the manager for me, and that I was going to go stall her. I walked up and tapped on her window, scared the poo out of her. I remained calm the entire time, she went batshit crazy. Yelled at me to "mind my own business," that she had been hit by someone else that didn't stop - so why should SHE bother. WHAT??!?!!
She got back into her car, I just stood behind her car taking pictures. The manager came out, with the owner of the truck. ALL went well in the end. Well, after that white trash bitch got hers...

i might have even "claimed" your mirror with my old truck. then when you called the cops we could show them your inability to drive in a specified lane. parking lot incidents are 50 50 so you'd have to fix your mirror and still be po'd about not getting to wait for the faster lane. :)

1. You fail for not choosing a lane and sticking with it.
2. She was definitely an impatient cunt.
Here's my somewhat related pet peeve... people who, when they have ample notification of construction and lane closures ahead, insist on staying in the lane that is ending and riding it out as far as they can just to skip the traffic already forming lines in the lanes that are still open. Then, when they get to the pinch point, they sit there with their blinker on (or just try to shove in) like the traffic in the other lanes who were waiting their turn just owe them a spot in line.
Fuck them. :fu2:

i generally respect the way things are set up if ppl are doing it before i showed up. if i arrive at any line and ppl are in one lane waiting to split, i stay in the main lane. if ppl are in 3 different lines, i pick one and be done with it. either way, it's called common courtesy. but then again, common courtesy (along with common sense) are commonly severely lacking.

A couple summers back a huge stretch of I90 was under construction (one lane closed, etc etc). What you describe actually backed traffic up for HOURS (around here that just doesn't happen). It got so bad that they put signs up saying "x lane closed 1 mile ahead, merge NOW" and cops started giving warnings for impeding the flow of traffic to the asshats you describe. Funny enough, once word got out about the warnings, traffic started flowing very well...

I wish they did that more often around here.
Trying to shortcut things, whether "legal" or not, creates more hassle for everyone in a situation like that.
I'm really impatient when I'm in traffic, but I can still think beyond my own little fishbowl enough to realize this... they damn well should too.

How about if you were at a movie theatre and the people in front of you already have a "feeder" line set up. Do you make your own line at one of the two available cashiers because you're a selfish tool? Or do you get in the existing line like everybody else?

I never thought of movie thetre lines.... good catch.
Movie theater concesson lines around here are spaced 10-15ft apart. If you are trying to do a feeder line on that shit, yes I would go directly to one line while I sent another person to the other line to fuck ya'll shit up.
If you are talking ticket lines, they have a roped feeder system in place here, so it is set in stone as a feeder system.
Feeder systems are great if they are setup like that, if they aren't, it's not a feeder system, so deal with it.

That isn't even the same scenario the line is designed to be a feeder line. It doesn't matter though because my movie theater has all individual lines where everyone stands in their own. No one is debating the merits of a feeder-line system, we saying you can't just create on on the fly and expect others to follow suit.

That's some bs, but I'm not the least bit surprised. I've done the same, as long as there aren't long lines.
On a slightly related topic, just to show the idiocy of people and how they don't understand lines...
When I used to eat McDonald's, they had two drive-thru lanes side by side, although the lanes didn't split until about 4 cars back from the order point. Amazingly, the vast majority of people either didn't know about the outside lane, or blindly followed the guy behind them and stayed at the inside lane. There would be a line of 10-15 cars in the "feeder" lane. I'd pull around all of them and there were only 2 cars for the outside lane, but the guy at the front of the feeder would wait for the inside lane, as would everyone behind him, just like a bunch of lemmings. Invariably, 2 or 3 people would pull out of the feeder lane and follow me, but only AFTER they saw someone else go. I'm not waiting just because other people can't figure out what to do.

Why would you be mad at me? At that point I didnt hold her up, she went to the front of the line. Thats the premise of the whole story.... her not waiting....
I see your point, but for me it's not about holding me up, it's about not making a decision.
I used to do this on one of the exit ramps when I'd go to school. I'd get way over to the left side of the single lane because I knew it would split into two.

Huh? He did make a decision, he decided to do the smart thing and wait for the line that opened up first.

Yup, and it seems that there was a tacit agreement from a couple of other drivers to do the same. That makes Miz Thang an arrogant, self absorbed piece of shit.

To me he didn't because there are two lines, so pick one and go. Fine if he wanted to sit there with no one behind him.

Then I guess I'm in the same category as this chick. I just wouldn't have turned my head the other way. I would have probably flipped him off and thought to myself what an asshole for thinking he is the only one in line...
As far as the other people following suit, probably is the same as what Capt said in his post about the 2 McD's lanes and no one would use the outside until he or someone else would.

Really, I would have walked in front of her to take the little container that goes in the tube.
Had a similar situation while we were out riding. Saw an old lady back into someones car. Sh edenies it yet me, my friend and another guy see the whole thing and call her on it. Cops roll through there quite often so we flagged one down and had them take all the info esp since she did inflict some damage on this other persons car.
Fuck them. :fu2:
This is common practice in NYC :td:

I honked at a lady who was texting today as she drifted into my lane. I'm in a fucking Tahoe....its kinda hard to miss me. She jerked her head around all surprised, got pissed and honked her horn back. This while we're doing 70 down the highway.
That's right, she was actually pissed at me for interrupting her text. I'm telling you guys, I don't see myself getting another motorcycle for the street...the distractions are getting worse and worse...
Oh are you AFRAID???? Man up homo and get out there danger or no danger! I may not want to confront people on the internet but at least I'm "man" enough to ride on the street! I guess your wife and kid are a "cover" huh?

It was really short, I was in and out in two minutes, which was funny, because there were a whole bunch of assholes honking and swearing at each other in the drive-thru line.

Some 60ish year old fuck just started brake checking me as soon as I pulled up behind him at a stop light then he started alternating between rolling five feet and checking again, screaming out his window at the work van, and furiously tapping himself on the temple while staring at me in the rear view. At first I thought he was having engine problems, now I think he's a nutter. Or maybe someone who hates the company. I was REALLY hoping he'd get out and come to my door so I could smash it in his face and beat the shit out of him. Glad he didn't though I didn't wanna test kanemans theories today

I had an old fart the other day that just braked like that. He would slam on his brakes real hard, then completely off the brakes and roll for 20 ft, then slam on the brakes hard again, roll for another 20 feet, and then finally slam his brakes to a stop. He had a sticker in his window that read "I slow for tailgaters". No wonder people always tailing you when you slam on your brakes well before you get to the intersection. :panic:

Seriously, the thread that will never die. Yea yea I should have chosen lane. im an ass. The lady should have taken off my mirror to spite me. I should have abandoned my car and walked into the bank. Fuck feeder lines, im going right to a movie theatre window from now on. etc etc etc.

I had to drive an hour and fourty minutes to get there, and I was there 42 minutes early. I have never waited longer than 8 minutes at that specific bank. I think I was there early enough. Odd circumstances. :idk:

When I used to go up there for the AMA superbike races (last race was 07), there would be ton's of hotties running around. Albeit they were all from out of town. Even the 2 strip clubs in Lexington, on a Friday night, they might have had the "A" team playing, but they were more like "C's" in my eyes.
