4 -5 of these awesome falcons are scratching at the window at my place. Wife managed to get a decent pic with her phone.

i've had hawks prech on my silo now and then, looking for a meal in the corn field below.

Badass! I used to see kestrels hovering in the fields on my way home from work when I lived out in California. They're awesome birds, and I've never seen one that close.

well this guy came back for an 8 AM wake up call this morning. I got some pics with the SLR before i went to work, i will post pics tonight.

he flew straight across the canal and perched on the branch on top, 2 buddies hanging out on the lamp post.

Wish you could get some without the screen! Have they nested anywhere or just passing through? Thanks for sharing tho, I have never seen a kestrel outside of the zoo. Redtails we get all the time around here but they arent quite as striking.

yea the screen was annoying. i remember last year when i went outside they took off.
btw they were back this morning for yet another 8 am wake up call. dont these damn birds know i dont get up for another 20 mins?

I had a small bird with that coloring scamper out of my garage yesterday...hit his head while running under my bike before he flew off...baby version maybe? We also have a large hawk that hangs out around here too...probably waiting for one of the four deer that feed in my back yard to keel over...LOL
