View Full Version : Elocity android tablet
Just played with a prototype, took two pictures and uploaded them to my facebook before the guy realized I was taking pics.
Real cool item, runs on 2.2, great motion sensitivity, worked in all 4 directions instantaneously, wifi and 4g, and hotspot capable, usb, audio jack, sd card, multi touch front and rear camera, lighter than the ipad (7" I played with), will have a 10" version too, plug in external keyboard with 2 extra usb plugs (didnt see that).
299 for the 7" version
If someone wants to link the pics from my facebook it would be appreciated.

Sat next to a tester on a plane, hewas showing it off
Still think they are retarded as the ipad even if they do have android. rather a laptop and a phone.
With an external keyboard you have an android based netbook with a slightly more versatile feel

Another gay device to sell the public. lol
interesting, looks like it does phone calls since he missed one. also looks like you have it upside down.
nice package btw ;)

Upside down is any direction. And yes I noticed that, he didn't tell me that it could make calls, but the missed call was a 4 digit number, and since its built on 2.2 it should have the phone software built in.
I think the guy was testing it on in flight wifi, he was going back and forth between it and a laptop, and he unhooked and plugged it into the laptop too.

I'd be interested in one depending on the storage... be easier to carry on the bike than a laptop, and I could transfer my photo's to it... then to a external HD if needed...
The 10" one would prolly be better, but I def see a need fora keyboard, I can type on a soft keyboard, but its not exact or quick enough for me. The 32 sd card ability is nice though

yeah gave up on it after the rally last year (at two).
but I gotta figure out what I want to do... do I want something to just store my photos and brows the internet? or do I want something that I can use lightroom on...
I did find that they now have 80gig Solid State drives for laptops on sale at best buy... I think when I see over 100gig I'll pick up a couple... one for the laptop... the other to throw in a usb drive...

I wasn't about the iPad at first. Thought it was dumb, etc. I messed around with one a little. I can see the use. Same for this. Now, if this sucker plays flash, I'm in. These tablets have their place.
I dunno, a netbook with a fold over keyboard and touch screen really looks more appealing to me, would be much happier if I could get one that had decent amount of memory though.
