I am swamped today but will throw out some routes later this week. I have no idea why you would want to go to Kansas though...Unless you just have to get the sticker. It is generally flat, feature less, and straight. Also a good several hours ride in the wrong direction...

True in Western Kansas....not so much for East Central Kansas...there are some very nice rides in the Flint Hills....hit me up if you're interested, Gas....I can give you some nice north to south routes through Kansas if you are headed this way anyway. I will admit... I'm considering canceling this trip for a NE, maine lobster trip instead. I have already plotted the new trip and planned the stops. Will hit 10 states (7 new) and Canada, around 2,000 miles.

I'm waiting to talk to caveman about it but I'm about 80% sure of my change.

Smiley I appreciate the help but the rally was already looking low on participation and the weather complications make it worse. It's not about rain, it's about roads, bridges, levees, and tornadoes.

I understand all the implications caused by this incredible and once in a life time storm situation. I couldnt have imagined the death and destruction when this all started. Those traveling the furthest would have some serious challenges to a rally right now, from Kansas and Oklahoma all the way across Kentucky and Tennesee, Arkansas and Mossouri.

Ya'll do what's best for you, There is always time to cancel within the 24 or 48 hours. This has not turned out to be the rally we all envisioned, just a gathering of friends, and friends can gather anytime anywhere, no need for a special time or venue...

We had that happen with a CF rally a few yrs back, damn hurricaine kept a lot of people home. Amrok rode through part of it then got called back to work so that was a double loss there. We go trained on prety good heading out but that was it.

I live right in the middle of it and TVA was hard hit by that shit. It's not the end of the world down here... Everything is still functioning normally. We are getting volunteers from all around and even met two guys from Florida that I explained in the other thread that used their riding vacation to assist the people down here that lost everything. Satanist harley riders.

I'd be wanting to go there to photograph the devastation. I went to the Outer Banks in 2004 right after Hurricane Ivan came through. It was wild.

And the pics I've seen from down there are astonishing.

A twister came down between the dragon and the foothills parkway. The devastation and how it was isolated to the path was just amazing. I didn't get any good photos though.

It cut this huge section of trees out, came across the lake and took out a power tower in the middle of the lake. Then came up the bank by the bridge the kids are always jumping off of. The section it cut through was just utterly obliterated and just outside of it was perfectly fine.

What a sad turn of events. We held a rally and only 3 showed up. I bailed on them as well. Well, lets just say our schedules didnt match due to my poor communication skills. I was in Eureka at noon, saw the PT Cruiser cars show, went to Branson and waived at the Basspro Shop, shot over to Peel's Ferry and was ferried across Table Rock Lake back into AR, and booked it home thru Harrison and got home (270 mi later) just in time to shower and get to my appointment/supper. Went well there too.

Maybe someday all our paths will cross...

Well. That's pretty much it. Didn't get a chance to take more pics since we'd have to stop a LOT more. I'm kicking myself for not mounting my camera on my bike for some nice vids.
