I just went out to Anacapa Island last Saturday with a few dudes and one of them had a digital cam and took some short videos. Check out the sea lions swimming all around us. They were everywhere, one of the came close enough to brush my tank. It was awesome.

A couple of other short videos. Not as cool as the sea lions one though.

Cool! I have yet to go out to the islands here but I have always wanted to.

Are you sure those aren't seals? I thought the sea lions are huge and not as "playful" as the seals. :idk:

Those are sea lions. Seals don't have external ears.

And these sea lions are pups, so that's why they were very playful. The boat pulled up and there were a whole shitload of them in the water playing and barking like dogs. Then when the divers hit the water, they start to come to us right away and once we went underwater, they were on us like stink on shit doing acrobatics and all sorts of gymnastics.

I got some pics of my own that I haven't downloaded yet, but it showed this little girl on a float board snorkeling and the sea lions came up really close to her, waving their fins, porpoising and doing all sorts of dances around her.

As far as sharks go, you don't know it hits you until it hits you anyway, so why worry?
