View Full Version : anyone ever buy an old bike from ct?
And how much of a pain in the dick was it to get it titled out of state? *might* be going north for a 72 titan this weekend.

Whats the title status of it now?
Nonexistant. They don't require them for pre 80

Honestly it's more of a "your DMV decides that not CT" kind if thing
Supposedly njmvc will generate a title from a notarised bill of sale and an old reg, but from talking to the guy he bought it out of an old barn and is trying to flip it. I doubt he's got any papers. I suppose I could put my want for a ringading bike on hold and just look for a cheap ujm to commute on. Sucks
Have fun with NJ and titling a non-titled vehicle.
It's possible, and not all that hard, but you will spend the $500 (plus more) you spend on the actual bike to get it legal in NJ. Add to that if the bike ever did have a title (I'm guessing you are taking the current owners word) and its registered somewhere, or was stolen, or any of a million other possibilities.
I'd skip it.
You probably need to get it inspected at the specialized vehicle inspection station in AC.

Yeah, I had enough fun finding a legal option on the hawk
