I bought a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab yesterday, with 14,000 miles, and traded in my 2003 Dodge Dakota, which put my cost under $20K. The truck is just a means of transporting my bike. So now I have no excuse for not coming to the east coast rally this spring.

Picked up an 09 Escape last month. About 25k miles. V6 awd.

Liking it a lot so far. Its a bit harder on gas than I was expecting. That could be caused by mashing the accelerator all the time.

2 inches lower than the base 500? Or 2 inches lower than the stock Abarth?

If the latter, damn

Scot

Base. The Abarth is only .5-.75 inches lower. This set up will only lower the Abarth 1.5 inches.

I can't go lower in the rear even with coilovers. You can pretty much set the front on the ground.

I have no plans to do that. My car actually ride pretty smoothly and isn't bad at all. I commute in it.

Here's a shot next to other 500s...

What's funny is that at the 500 meets our local dealer has every now and again, people all pay attention to my car...and little attention to the actual Abarths there.

Thanks man! Im assuming you mean Shelby Daytonas and Shelby Chargers considering that they are totally different frames. I almost went with an SC this time since they are around 500 lbs lighter but they're getting hard to find, tiny bay space, and people want real money for em.

As for the Shelby Ive been making strides :lol

split a spare two piece intake manifold. going to buy 3.1 liters worth of D-shaped extrusion from ross machine racing and make a new giant plenum for it then port the shit out of the lower and slap on a 58mm throttle from a 3.8 caravan. Probably have it powdercoated some garish color with "Bad mother fucker" written on it somewhere :lol

Not too surprising, lots of cars use bosch. Stock Turbo II injectors are rated 33 pph @ 55psi of fuel pressure.

I have a set of 52 pphs that will go in once this manifold is built and then I'll probably switch to dsm style and get stupid

Also plunked down money for a seriously ported big valve head, same guy is going to hog out my intake manifold lower...AND I have a PnP 60mm throttle on the way for the bad mofo intake
Also need to hit the junkyard soon for a one piece gasket-TBI valve cover which i'll likely strip, polish, and send out for custom etching :D fun times

Damage wasn't too bad--broken tie rod and a busted steering rack. Had to get all the tires re-mounted and balanced, but the wheels were straight. But damn, it looks like shit now!

6:35 I tried to psych him out under braking and totally fugged up :whosr:

I had 4 people breathing down my neck, tires started going off pretty quickly, and I let the pressure get to me. This is why we race cheap cars.

Yeah. Around the 11 minute mark, it was pretty obvious that you were driving in your mirrors.

You looked like you pulled it together though and were looking better...until, well, you know.

Totally! Tires went off sooo quickly. Different tire pressure gauge that weekend :wtfru:

All in all, it's just a bunch of work. The new steering rack was the only expensive thing. I got a fender from a junkyard for $14. Rear fender is gonna stay bent, likely.
