I've never been big on naked bikes...well except for my friends somewhat customized Speed Triple but that does look sharp !!

Meh, its a little plain for a naked bike.

On a side note, BMW just emailed me and said that their demo bike has arrived at Northwest Honda and I can schedule a test. ITS FUCKING DECEMBER IN OHIO. There is snow on the ground. Thats gonna be a GREAT test, especially when I hit some ice and wad the bike...

Yeah, that's the point.... Simple, exposed, functional... No need for flashy bits, it's just an engine, wheels, and some shit to hold on to... Beautiful...and IMHO, the simple truth to what motorcycles are all about.

I dunno....... IMO a naked bike should be more different from its full-faired cousin. Otherwise anyone could replicate it by removing their lower fairings and throwing some handlebars on.

To market for the masses, you are correct. But like Ducati did with their Streetfighter... they can make it different without completely taking away from the SS roots... That's what I think the problem with most naked bikes is... they are 'cousins' instead of 'siblings'...

thats the essence of streetfighters

True dat.

What that bike says to me is:

"I spent 16 grand on a bimmer and I wadded it up riding like an asshole. Since I didn't have insurance on it and I'm still making payments I decided to put it back on the road but when I saw the price of bodywork......"

Or, "I bought it with the intent on hacking it up and making it my own" like this guy did.
