So we are a few episodes in and just wondering what you all think of it so far?

Losing interest quickly. I keep trying to like it, but:
Tanner doesn't have the personality to carry his segments
Ok, none of them do
The guest interviews have been hard to watch
They all seem like they've been given a niche to fit that mimicks the UK version, rather than being themselves, so they come across disingenuous... or as bad actors
I could go on, but there's really no need.
Curious to see what other's opinions are.

First two episodes were crappy copies of what a US marketing team thinks are good Top Gear UK episodes.
Haven't watched the latest one yet.

The cast is terrible. None of them are remotely funny and it's all completely scripted.

This minus Tanner who at least adds driving creditability.
Fire everybody and put in clay millican, john force, and colin edwards

Tanner sucks cock with the rest of them. The show is terrible. None of this cast should of made it on to the show.

I remember reading all my Sport Compact Car mags as a kid and building up a car and drag racing. They always talked about drifting and how awesome it was. I went to one drifting event and was bored out of my mind. Figure skating for the car world.

But I will say I will keep watching. I'm a sucker for any type of car show with speed & stupidity.

With all the ghey bullshit they are putting on network TV (Dancing with the stars, Skating with the stars, Stranded on an island with wannabe stars, stuck in a house with nobodies, who wants to marry an attention whore) even as bad as these guys seem to suck the show itself is 20x better than whats on any more

And thus a shit show gains the ratings to remain mediocre

Why do I feel like I am just watching the same episodes from before, only with American cars?

I watch it because I don't have BBCA anymore. It's in the top tier (or second to top) on Dish and was the only channel I watched that was above the very bottom tier. Didn't feel like paying $25 per month just for one channel that only carried one show that I watch. So I'll settle for the American version, at least until it gets cancelled after the first season.

I'll admit, I don't hate it as much as I thought I would, but then I've only watched one episode. I don't WANT to like it, because honestly there's no NEED for it (other than to show us cars we can actually get in the US).

I liked it as well and they do make a twin turbo Raptor 800 too. There are some not good stories floating around the interwebs about serious problems dealing with Hennessy though.
ETA: In my opinion the show has become better than it was initially. While the hosts still aren't as comfortable as they could be, especially when doing voice overs, their interaction with each other has improved. I thought the most recent episode about the best past American car was the best one yet and it made me genuinely laugh a few times. Of course much of it is derivative from the UK version but that shouldn't come as any surprise. I will continue to watch and with the last few episodes doing so wasn't a chore. I also suspect it will continue to improve as the season goes along.
