So someone died because a rock flew the window? And this is news?
100million to save 12 people a year? Hardly worth it IMO.

No, someone died because a section of improperly kept roadway flew through the window. RIF.
Though I have to admit that the sections of Highway 20, that I've been on, didn't seem to be in too bad a state of repair. Perhaps I didn't stray far enough from Birmingham? Then again, I'm used to driving on roads that get a heavy freeze/thaw cycle every year.

Lots of people die in all sorts of crazy ass ways. It's unfortunate, but we aren't going to end it by hurling money and laws at our lives.

Actually in this case, it would have.
Actually in this case, it would have.
well this one particular had actually been repaired once already, made they would of been working on a different section when this one killed her. So it may have not done anything.

It still comes down to money. Because if they threw more money at road repair, they'd have more employees and more time to fix the pot holes instead of letting them get that bad to fuck up a car at normal highway speeds.

Yeah, lots of money. This is just one fucked up death in millions around the world. There are lots of things we could throw money at and prevent a few deaths a year.

Yup and it's definitely tough to decide how much is too much.. Because lives are worth differently to every single person in the world.

Or they could have been a contractor that repaired it the quick and dirty way, rather than finding the reason for the failure of that section, because it means they get to fix it again in a year or so.

And then 20 more highway workers a year would die from DUI drivers. redflip

You know what else is dangerous? Motorcycles... they should just ban all motorcycles... that's cheap and it would save many, many lives.

Especially since motorcyclists are most affected by potholes, right?
I mean, you could save on having to fix the potholes, and still lower the death toll.

"Take the juice from one bottle of that Ol' Janx Spirit.
Pour into it one measure of water from the seas of Santraginus V
Allow three cubes of Arcturan Mega-gin to melt into the mixture (it must be properly iced or the benzene is lost).
Allow four litres of Fallian marsh gas to bubble through it (in memory of all those happy Hikers who have died of pleasure in the Marshes of Fallia).
Over the back of a silver spoon float a measure of Qualactin Hypermint extract, redolent of all the heady odours of the dark Qualactin Zones.
Drop in the tooth of an Algolian Suntiger. Watch it dissolve, spreading the fires of the Algolian suns deep into the heart of the drink.
Sprinkle Zamphour.
Add an olive.
Drink...but very carefully."

You know, The rally year before last me and Rogue rode through that exact area on our way to TWO. I remember it being under construction but not in that bad of shape. Crazy.
