Well since I left my bike, helmet, gloves, etc outside last night it rained on the bike and inside my helmet. I'm drying the pads out with a fan right now but decided it might be time to wash the pads.
Normally I just spray fabreeze in it and go. But now I'd like to actually wash my pads. There are no cleaning instructions on the padding so I'm lost.
Can I just throw the pads in with a regular wash load (T-shirts, jeans, etc) and dry it in the drier. Or does it need to be washed in a special way.
It's an HJC AC-12 if that matters any.

Thanks JoJo. I just thought about checking HJC's website but decided to check the posts first.
Thanks for the link though.

No problem. My spare is a hjc ac-12 but I was too lazy to go look at it so I just googled it.

I read somewhere to submerge the whole damn thing with some Woolite... I'll just keep mine stinky.

I do this with baby shampoo.
Put a towel in the sink, flip the helmet onto it's top on the towel, fill with water (make sure you have closed the vents). Put in a wee bit of baby shampoo. Ever so slightly work into the pads.
Rinse.
Squeeze out as much water as possible.
Put on top of box fan to dry.
I don't soak it... but I do submerge it. I know of people that will put it in their dishwasher with the visor off - just have it on a no heat cycle. The water won't hurt it, but the heat might.
I now no longer ever have a funky helmet. :dthumb:
