Or not?

Yeh kids should start learning about this stuff sooner than later. My 10 year old came home from school earlier this year talking about one of the girls on her bus humping a boy. Turned out to be just talk from an 8 year old girl who has a13 year old sister who taught her the birds and the bees.
You can't hide your kids from everything, and if you do, you will just leave them unprepared for life.

Not arguing against sex ed - but I still don't understand why it's necessary for two 2nd-graders to be unclothed and reportedly performing oral sex on each other IN THE CLASSROOM for the class. Don't we have cheesy 50s informational videos for this?

My wife (now ex-wife) and I were teaching/leading a 1st grade Vacation bible school class at church one summer when my wife had brought some Kiwi's in for a lesson.
I can't remember what they were supposed to SAY it looked like, but my wife held up the little fuzzy brown Kiwi with the little dent in the front that was straight up and down and asked "Now what does this look like to YOU?"
We heard silence, then a little 1st grade boy blurted out "It looks like a PUSSY"
None of the other kids "got it" and said that it didn't look like a cat.
 My wife and I however LOST it and had to leave the room.
Turns out the 1st grader had a 13 yr old brother that had educated him on the birds and bee's quite well ;)
My 13 yr old son got "the talk" when he was 10. So did my middle daugter. My 9yr old daughter gets it this summer
I often give my son little "tid-bits" of slang knowledge of terms and what things mean so that he's not caught off guard at school by friends. I would rather it come from me than where I learned it
