I don't recall the picture painted of Detroit being a very rosy one in that movie. I recall that "Robocop" was deployed there because the city had descended into a crime-ridden free-for-all. Odd that they would celebrate this as any kind of positive representation of their city.

Hell, the whole point of the movie was to eradicate Detroit and turn it into Delta City because Detroit sucks balls. Then Robocop got a jetpack and killed some Japanese Androids.

Seriously, robocop was slow as shit. They owned his ass in Robocop 3 with just cops and almost killed him. Why not just do that again instead of crappy samuari androids.
