You all know how I like doing little projects with my daughter on the weekends she's here. Since the loft bed is done, I decided to add something to it. The bed has a bookshelf above her pillow. So I decided to make her a reading lamp out of books.

Start with a lamp kit, some old hardbacks, and a drill

Notch the middle of the bottom book for the cord to come out cleanly. Continue adding books and screwing them together with drywall screws as you go.

I was gonna do that with an old helmet one time... then I got distracted by something shiney at Lowes, forgot the lamp kit, and went home and started drinking.

I am considering doing this with interesting looking liquor bottles. God knows I go through enough of those
