Not from motor city but at least the great american high five state...

I just wish there was a video of it running. Still a super cool idea and thinking way way out of the box.

Oh and I wish we had a translator for the instuctor.

Hmmm.

A happy day for environmentalists, and a sad day for fans of the sound of a good V8, I guess.

Hmm. Reminds me of both a Wankel and a torque converter at the same time.

Is there even a prototype or is this all conceptual? I can't see the video.

"Last week, the prototype was presented to the energy division of the Advanced Research Projects Agency, which is backing the Michigan State University Engine Research Laboratory with $2.5 million in funding."

Except they didn't show a working model, at any point in the video.

Yeah, I thought modern IC engines were in the 30-35% range.

Another engine that wont see the light of day.

Another brilliant idea that turns out to be crap when you scale it up to a useful size... Like a Sterling engine.

More than anything else, this thing reminds me of a sliver from a gas turbine. Except it's missing a half dozen components that would make it actually function. (Sorry, a "jet" engine)

This is fun. Looking into things a bit I find this type of engine has been around since the fifties, probably isint throttleable, and if used as they claim can be done without transmission etc it won't use ANY fuel for propulsion (kinda like the 0 mpg volt) also 25kw in a generator is around 40 horses. Not that ths things gonna work anyhow  probably an excuse for grant money
