Well, between my friend's new Ninja 1000 and then others who have test ridden the new Kawis lately and getting me all excited (never mind teasing myself with test rides), I have new bike fever again.

Not sure if I want to trade my gsxr or not. I love my Toad and don't really want to get rid of it, but I want a bike that isn't a schizophrenic drama queen (esp now the hot weather is returning, it's going to get worse). I really want a Z1000. With a kid in college who only works part time at minimum wage and will likely need a new car soon (doubtful he will be able to get one on his own at this point), it's so hard to justify though.

I have been keeping an eye out for a good deal on a used Z1k, or any other kind of deal I can find. It seems no one who has a 2010 wants to give it up yet. And... to be honest I prefer buying new if I can.

I was checking out Kawasaki's website to torture myself some more, and noticed an ad for something they have going on right now called the Good Times Sales Event. Apparently you request a game ticket, which they mail to you, then you take it to a dealer and see what you won with the ticket. I guess the ticket has a code hidden on it, which you unlock at the dealer. That will tell what you win right away from the ticket (which could be money off a new bike - what I am shooting for), then later you bring the code back to Kawasaki's website and use that to enter a drawing to win a 250R. So I requested a ticket.

May as well give it a shot, hey, maybe I'll win a 250R! I'll ride it, I ain't skeered!

There is a $750 discount on a '10 Z1000. So maybe if I get something off with the ticket, and maybe (big MAYBE) trade the gsxr, I can pull off the purchase.

Anyone looked into this yet? Gotten a ticket? How did it work? Here's the link to it (http://www.kawasaki.com/win/?cm_mmc=FDI-_-GoodTimes-_-HomePageBucketPromo-_-GoodTimesLanding)

Anyone want to buy a pyscho gsxr? :D Maybe I could trade it for a used car for my kid. Hmmm...

We're designing a new house to start building later this year... one of the requirements is a larger garage for more toys. One of those is on the list. :)

2???????????????

Fuck me... minimum of a 3-car... I'd prefer a 3-car attached and a enough land to build another 3-car garage/shop.

Awesome!

Yep I want a 2car garage and a larger workshop for my fleet of track and street bikes. I will have it one day!!!

2 car garage and shop or 3 car garage. I absolutely hate 1 car garages.

3 car garage = 1 slot for car, 1 slot for bikes, and 1 slot for tools/work area. I'd take a 20x20 shop any day of the week.

Garages being built these days suck ass. Just enough room to barely park a pickup. No room for look chest, lawn mower, and so on.

*edit*

Dont know why it qouted you.

I am in the burbs on LI, land/space is at a premium and is NOT cheap. Trust me I would love a 3 car set up and more land, but untill I get a job with a few more zeros added to my salary it wont be happening here ;)

I have an oversize 2 stall, and a 1 stall in the back yard. Yeah, they are all full... need to build on another double deep stall, if I only had the cash.

This is what I want for my toys/workshop in addition to a regular 1 car stall attached to the house

That's good, but square it up. And still at least an oversized 2 stall...

but its deep, even though its only 2 wide, it is very long.

z1000s and what size garage might be appropriate for a motrycle of that calibur to be housed in. Basically the bike is soooooooo cool that it would need a double wide garage, but depending on the person the z1000 might need to share space with a work area of some kind and if they are pussywhiped and their wife/girlfriend/signifigant other encroaches on their man space 3 car garage.

Also the link you posted has a contest, of which I was the only other person to enter.

Awesome summary

LOL! Yes that was it in a nutshell huh?

For the record I'd like to point out that not all wives/girlfriends want to encroach in a negative way on the man space. I'd like to have a space of my own for all my potential toys too. :D

Did you enter the contest already? Or just request the ticket?

I was talking the roof, I dislike rounded roof, seems like you end up losing too much wall space.

Not really, because anything that curves over top is higher than you can realistically reach, unless you plan on storing stuff up high. Really teh wasted space is anything above 10 feet.

The thing I like about them is that they are fairly sturdy, simply designed, useful, and decently priced.

acalliste, if it makes you feel any better, I'm in the same boat, I really want to move to more of a standard or even sport touring bike, but would like to have my cake (keep my bike) and eat it too (get another along the lines of a z1000, busa, fjr1300, concourse, zx14 etc....

But as you mentioned I have two girls in college right now, so I'm trying to resist temptation, mine are paid for.

Yep, the toad is paid for too. Main reason I don't really want to get rid of it. It's worth more to me to keep it than I'd ever get in trade or by selling it.

Oh well, just need to find a way to make a new purchase happen. :D Come on good times ticket!! :rockwoot:

higher than YOU could reach LOL...

naw seriously... you could easliy build a loft for storage around "bays" for vehicles.

shit you could build a ramp and have a raised platform if you didn't have a lift. making it simple for services.

Look for a Z1000 forum, there will be used ones for sale on it. I've seen 2 2010 z1000's up for sale on my FZ1 forum already.

I wouldn't mind having one too. I liked the older model but haven't gotten to test ride a new one yet.

Not that interested in a used one. I am most likely financing it and it's hard to get a good deal on a used one that way.

How did this pan out for you?

I had a family emergency and had to leave town for a week. I think my good times ticket must have gotten mistaken for junk mail, because I haven't seen it but I wasn't here to personally go through the mail for a while. :skep: Maybe it'll turn up.
