So I picked up the new toy today...
I just want to say that I should of never gotten into the sport car thread, I am a tried and true jeeper....
I am looking forward to this summer and the camping that is going to take place.

Cool a white jeep... I've seen that before...
Ah yes, the classic mid-90's movie Clueless. Cher's jeep!

Really? My first thought was that he didn't want anything to bounce into his undercarriage

I love Jeeps...sweet ride.
I am waiting until they put a diesel in a wrangler that gets over 25mpg...then I'm sold. Otherwise those things get shitty mileage.

I'm not really a fan of Jeeps. I don't get why they are so expensive. They seem simplistic.

A few pics from this past weekend.
The red Jeep is the one I was in...built for rock crawling not the mud. (not my Jeep but a friends).
The white one stuck in the mud was a just a random drunk group.

There's just something about being a jeeper, whether you like to get muddy, crawl over humongous rocks or just strip it down and enjoy a summer day. It's akin to being on a bike, true jeepers even wave to each other.
Please note: your female college student who got a jeep cuz it was so "kewl" is NOT a jeeper. And they always look confused if you wave to them.
ETA: I'm looking for some new tires for mine, I want something tough looking, on and off road but reasonable, obviously I'm not putting super swampers on her. Any ideas?

I tried to tell you that from the beginning, you wouldn't listen to me though. LOL

Its a 1999 Sport TJ 4.0 auto (say what you want, but much easier to offroad) every feature but a hard top, even has ice cold AC, 3 inch suspension lift,a complete set of 5 brand new 32' XTX which I highly reccommend, 5 8ball rims, new CAI and best top
Paid 6,000$ had a brand new hitch and duster top both never put on

For a tire slightly more aggressive that an AT, but not quite a MT.
- Nitto Trail Grappler
- GoodYear DuraTrac
- Cooper ST
Heard lots of good things on all of them.

I always found the 4.0 easy to work on. Good luck with it!

Those are good for an AT. The options I listed are all more aggressive.

Thanks guys!
I've looked at all but the Cooper St's, I love the look of the Duratrac, saw those on a truck locally that had similar MT rims as mine and it looked pretty good. Thats the look I want, so I'll probably look at those soon.

Damn.
Sounds like a great deal on a good set up.
I'll be honest: I talked shit about auto trannies until I actually used one to do some off-roading out west. I'd have to think twice about a manual now.

Duratrac's is what I was going to go with, but couldn't afford the $225/tire for the E load range... Ended up going with Hankook ATM's instead. Less aggressive tire, but they'll do for now.
I know a few guys that were running them on plow trucks and loved them!
