I love my Macbook, don't get me wrong... but even I would rather wait a few months to buy whatever new whirlygig they come up with.
I do wish I had an iPad if only for the Adobe apps they have on there (would be very useful for my college program.. but it's not like I haven't survived without it).

During a trip to Paris, there was a huge line for the Louis Vuitton store. Chinese. Coming out with 3,4 bags a piece. Those f'ers are going to end up owning the world.

Not really. All of those pics like that you see are a small percentage of the billions and billions of Chinese. From everyone I've talked with that has been there and/or does business with the Chinese, it seems most of the people are in rural areas and are 'poor' compared to the yuppie Chinese people. :idk:

Sure, but remember that in total they have at least 4 times as many people as we do. So even if only 5% of them are affluent enough to buy iPads, that'd be like 20% of our population.

I'm trying to see the point you are making.
I was pointing out that those rich Chinese you see are a very small fraction of all of the Chinese. You essentially said the same thing.

Dude,
Don't know what you are getting at but only a small fraction of Chinese are wealthy
Hey, did you guys know that there are a fuckload of chinese, so that giant big line for us is only a very small fraction of chinese?

Yeah...but did you know that small fraction of chinese is like 1/5 or our whole population?
no, I didn't know that, but I did know that a very small group of Americans is the same percentage of population for our respective countres as an extremely big group of chinese.

What's more important to Apple: The % of China who are rich, or the NUMBER who are rich?
The town I live in is over $100K median income......But it only has like 25,000 people, so even if 90% of them could justify buying an iPad, Apple isn't going to be opening a store here anytime soon.

but what about the FACT that for every 5 chinese on that line there is 1 american this line here?
How do you explain that?
How?

Simply viewing Apple kit provokes religious euphoria

A team of British neuroscientists has confirmed what IT atheists have known for years - that the brains of Jobsian cult members respond to the sight of Apple products in much the same way that religious believers respond to religious imagery.
In a recent BBC documentary, Secrets of the Superbrands (BBC iPlayer), the neuroscientists ran an MRI scan on the brain of Alex Brooks, the editor of World of Apple, who claims that the Jobsian cult is "definitely" on his mind 24 hours a day. They discovered that photos of things like the iPhone and the iPad make certain parts of his brain all tingly.
"We see quite an amount of changes in the brain when he's actually looking at Apple products, which is quite fascinating," explained professor Gemma Calvert, a neuroscientist at the University of Warwick. "There's much more activity in the visual cortex, an enhanced visual attention, if you like, to Apple products." Much the same thing occurs, she explained, when holy imagery is shown to religious zealots.
"This suggests that the big tech brands have harnessed, or exploit, the brain areas that have evolved to process religion,” she chillingly elaborated.
The study's test group extends to, well, a single person, but our own research indicates the finding can be extrapolated to every fanboi on earth.
In the interests of science, El Reg's San Francisco bureau this morning wrapped a portable MRI scanner around the brain of its very own Apple cult disciple, hopelessly addicted fanboi reporter Rik Myslewski. His grey matter responded to a selection of Apple products in much the same way that the average American responds to images of processed food and Charlie Sheen.
So there you have it. Apple is indeed a religion. Amen. ®
