The comments about us defining boundaries is pretty interesting.

If you think about it, we as a species tend to congregate around boundaries. Large population centers are on coastlines. Most people build their homes on roads. We live on the boundary of land and air.

It stands to reason that in the absence of a hard natural boundary, we put perameters in place to make it SEEM as though there are boundaries...
