I've rode my buds 06 R6 (which looks exactly like that one) several times. Never liked it. Ergos are too harsh and no power below 8k.

That's becoming every 600. Smaller, lighter, faster, more cramped, more high strung, more painful, more hunched over, more useless on the street. The liter bikes are inching that way too, minus the complete lack of low end power.

Nah....the 600rr is like a couch and my 09ZX6r is right in the middle. I like the ZX6r and Gixxer the best..giving the slight nod to the Gixxer.
The ZX6r has VG midrange power for a 600, like night and day from the R6. Though with a pipe, gearing a remap, the R6 is a another animal.

Yeah I'm going to be looking at a bunch of different bikes. Right now it's between a KTM and a BMW. I may wait to see what the new dual sport suzuki is hinting towards, but I doubt I'd ever own a Suzuki

Where do you plan on riding with it? Big trips I guess?
Hopefully not everyday commuting. I rode some KTM's on the street (SMC and SMR) and got tired of the brake dive in stop and go traffic. Big difference from a sportbike.

I went to DS riding and won't go back to sportbikes. Best move I ever made.

I don't live in the city, I take back curvy roads 30 mins to work everyday usually without another car in sight. I don't think I'll ever be back to sport bikes unless I buy one strictly for the track

Sucks about the R6 man. The Duke and Duc don't seem like they have much in the way of travel hookups other than a pilion bag. Nothing in the way of hard stuff.

Everybody says the 600rr is comfortable. I thought it was a f'n ball buster to the max. Idk, it just has never has fit me correctly. :idk: My friend"s 05 R6 wasn't half bad, but the newer gens suck. It seems the zx has gotten progressively more aggressive as the models move on. My friend's 06 636 is very comfortable, my other friends 08 seems a tad more agressive but I still like the position. The reach on the 09+ seems so much farther (but I havnt ridden this gen, so I cant say much about it). I think the Gixx takes the cake. The 06 and 08 I have ridden just seem like you sit "in" the bike versus "ontop" of the bike with the others.

Well sat on a bunch of bikes today and still not certain. The Ducati hypermotard seating position made me feel like I was back on the R6. Maybe a different set of handlebars can fix it. I got offered out the door for one with Arrow pipes for 10,500.
Also sat on the the 990 KTM Adventure. This bike is to most comfortable I've sat on. Too bad the lowest I could get the price was 14,500 out the door. BTW the invoice price for them is 12,500, he showed be on the ordering system. $2000 more in bullshit was more than I can afford. Talking about labor and shit like he pays shit for that.
There is a demo day for the Ducati's in Harrisburg tomorrow, but I'm headed to Pittsburgh. Lame
The search goes on.

You like that Sonanta?
Just buy a DL650 or DL1000. Prolly get one for 8000 OTD. Bulletproof motor and transmission.

Well after reading more about the hypermotard, it's just a sportbike styled to look like a motard. No one uses them offroad, they have sportbike suspension and tire sizes which no one makes dirt oriented tires for. Plus nothing is protected, so rocks and anything picked up by the tires would tear up the bike.

I like it, but I don't drive it. Power is pretty decent, for a 4 cylinder. It's the wife's car. I have a 2006 Santa Fe. She gets new cars, I get new bikes. That's part of our agreement.
