So a few weeks back I sat on my nook and destroyed the screen. Barnes and nobles wanted $150 for a new screen plus $59 for labor to replace it. Holy craptacular costs. A new nook, the new upgraded touchscreen nook was $139, so I just went out and bought a new one instead. So far with 15 minutes of playing with it it is super fast, the touchscreen is a little too sensitive but manageable, and the screen is the same size as the old but without the second color touchscreen thingie at the bottom.

To say it blows my old 1st gen kindle away is an understatement.

On a small side note, I was talking to my neigbor about it, and in conversation it came out that I was the person with the wifi network names of 'bondage club meeting tonight' and 'lesbian porn session going on'.

I tried the new Nook, as well as the 3rd gen Kindle. I preferred the kindle and went with that, but neither of them are in any way bad at what they do.

Now, the Kobo, that sucks balls.
