I think it's water proof. Not sure if it's something you dual sport guys do. I know derf did something like this.

It's a 20" x 20" Including the handle & hinges.

A taco bell cup for size reference.

I have a spare pillion seat for the SV - figure I'll rig up a top case by using my evil powers and combining the two... Muhahahahahahaha...

You are better off finding a 2nd back seat pan, bolting the box to that, that way you could just swap out rear seats when you want (correct me if I'm wrong, but the SV rear seat just snaps in?)

I replaced my stock pillion seat for a Corbin pillion seat, so I have the stock pan still.

that's what I've seen several times... actually Tigger did that with a bag on his GSXR for trips... though I think he used a seat cover not actual seat... :idk:
